@SkyNews Re: comments on surgical productivity. The number of clinicians has increased to service the complex needs of an ageing population, acute 2ndary care demand & a significant hike in admin & bureaucracy. The number of operating theatres has not kept pace. It’s largely maths.

@SkyNews No doubt effective NHS reform is needed, however ‘Detailed, robust and undisputable research’ isn’t undertaken and reported within 3-months of government. Further work and consultation is needed to ensure major policy decisions aren’t based upon overlooked error and bias.

There isn’t a separate training curriculum for MTCs, the trauma team is more than simply an ED Consultant and plenty of very able clinicians choose DGH jobs…

@pjsouthall Ask myself that almost daily…..and have concluded it’s both (sadly). The last 5-years of right wing populism and the increasing erosion of values and direction within government are at the very least contributory to my sense of ageing, however.

@SkyNews it appears the culture secretary is wide of the mark in her interview this morning. Objectively, reporting the facts is important. Perceptions, on the other hand, are less so, as they are subject to an individuals biases, unconscious or otherwise.
