Urgent Appeal to Prevent the Deportation of Uyghurs Detained in Thailand
We urgently inquire about the fate of 48 Uyghurs detained in Thailand for the past 13 years.
These individuals were detained illegally and have been held against their will under dire conditions. This morning, we received devastating reports indicating they may soon face deportation to #China🇨🇳.We are deeply concerned and urgently request clarification regarding the accuracy of this information.
As you are likely aware, the #Uyghur people in Chinese-occupied East Turkistan (commonly referred to as Xinjiang) are facing ongoing genocide. If these Uyghurs are forcibly returned to China, they will be at risk of severe torture, persecution, and execution. These individuals fled Chinese oppression in search of freedom.

We urgently demand that the Thai government halt any deportation plans, immediately release these Uyghurs, and allow them to safely settle in a third country. Sending them back to China would not only violate international human rights laws but also make Thailand complicit in China’s genocide.

Recently Xi stated in his speech that China’s ethnic policy focus on its principle that all ethnic groups are equal and opposes oppression and discrimination. If that is true, why they don’t release the Uyghur Scholar İlham Tohti and stop the genocide? https://t.co/9L5R2CZBIa

15 years ago, on June 26, 2009, thousands of Chinese stormed a toy factory in Shaoguan, viciously attacking and killing dozens and injuring hundreds of Uyghur who had been transferred from #EastTurkistan as forced labor. This sparked peaceful #Uyghur protests in Urumchi, resulting in the brutal July 2009 #UrumchiMassacre by the Chinese occupation regime. #ShaoguanMassacre
