A2: To be honest... A LOT of it makes me uncomfortable because I don't know the proper way to react/support that will make a difference. I also would like to choose ACTION but find that I am unsure of how to begin this action #WeLeadEd
A1: To care for myself, I am taking time to reflect on current situations, journal, and listen to calming music. To care for others, I have been texting people I haven't talked to in a long time to reconnect with them and check in. I'm talking daily to my family as well #WeLeadEd
@ajpodchaski We should be encouraging the tough conversations about race and equality. Encourage students to express their concerns and ask questions. We cannot better understand each other until we get the courage to ask and listen. #edtechchat
@MissBisaga4th YES!!!!! I completely agree with everything here! Answering the real, true, hard questions to answer and not letting anything slip by that shouldn't be. Some parents aren't educating students at home on real-life issues so it is sometimes left to us to do!
@mshutchi That is a great idea Sam, I never thought of that. Having staff drop off or mail packages to families every week or every other week can help to eliminate the NEED for "online tools" which some cannot physically access.
@AlexVKluge Interesting idea, I had never heard of this before.. I wonder what would happen with the students with short commutes but no wifi access at home.. they may start an assignment but have to get off the bus and lose their work before they finish.
A1: Access can be a very tricky thing to overcome. I think that providing equal opportunities within the classroom and looking at things as a whole class can help change this. Having a voice verbally within the classroom is a first step to everyone having a voice.
