#OnThisDay in 1542 Catherine Howard was executed. Catherine Howard was Queen of England from 1540-1541, as the 5th wife of Henry VIII. Catherine was beheaded after less than 2 years of marriage to Henry on the grounds of treason for committing adultery while married to the King.
