If SADC was a country it would be number one or number two in the world in terms of minerals only. It would be competing with Russia, USA and Australia. China is not even in the picture. And in Africa, We would still be number one, followed by ECOWAS and then East Africa. The interesting thing about SADC is that we hold monopolies in minerals of the future that go into clean energy. When you consider this fact it means the future should be dominated by SADC.

That’s why we must be careful of anything that seek to divide us by provinces. This is not the time to shrink into small countries, but to unite as a region and become a bigger country. It is not wise to want KZN to be a country. Because you will not have these minerals. A lot of SA minerals are concentrated in Limpopo, North West and Mpumalanga. So why would you want to move away from all that wealth? Do not be deceived by people who want to isolate you.

I think it is time for Africa to operate as regional blocs instead of individual countries. SADC must be a bloc. East Africa is already working together and that’s why they have the fastest growing economies. Look at Ethiopia and Kenya. Look at AES, they also work together and that’s why they are exploding in GDP. They are the fastest growing in the whole world. So it’s time for SADC to learn from East Africa and work like a single economy too.

Here’s what we must understand. As the richest region in the world, outsiders will always flock here and seek to divide us and destabilize us. There’s a reason why they are not trying to divide East Africa. Because it is the least richest bloc in Africa. But SADC as the richest, we will have a fight on our hands. They will do everything to make sure we are divided. Don’t fall for it. Keep your eye on the money.
