@IanGordonCraig Hey there Ian, no it's not derived from anyone l know. I use a sort of free hand intuition and the faces appear. The more l work on the portrait, the more fixed or focussed the face becomes.
The experience for me is often surprise and awe, as they begin to stare back at me
