@athiestboi Because humanity is inherently sinful due to the fall.
You have affixed a standard to religious people that you yourself will not live up to or follow, so stop the hypocrisy and admit your also a sinner in need of salvation.

However at Calvary, and it's no coincidence, that we're told that when Christ went into the garden of Gethsemane, he was "a stone's cast" away. God is showing us that the obedient son was going to the cross to take place of we, the disobedient children. You should be thankful
@UgoCannon 1/2
Your blindness and bias have caused you to miss the point. The law was never given to make a person right with God and it's inflexible judgments shows us our wickedness and falling short. Nowhere do we read of parents carrying this out and it wasn't the ultimate purpose.
@TheRealJamieKay That's 100% correct and nobody should be denying it.
The problem is the overall context is missing.
Israel was a theocracy, under God's rule. The city had walls and judges at the gates.
Invasion couldn't happen without war and idolatry and wickedness was dealt with severely.
@MickMilee Christianity isn't afraid of questions.
Many believers came to faith by asking hard ones.
The danger isn't questioning, it's refusing to follow the evidence wherever it leads.
@_Ochiedike Teaching children they're sinners isn't abuse if it's true.
We don't deny illness to spare feelings, we diagnose it so people can be healed.
The gospel is the cure, not the abuse.
Keeping people from the truth is abuse.
@athiestboi You're right because religion is of Satan, and salvation is what people need. That said, compared to religion, atheism has caused until suffering and death in the hundreds of millions, due to unbelieving dictators from communist and socialist nations.
@Lumichaoss Because rather than gathering collectively God's way as clearly revealed in the church epistles in the NT, man has devised their denominations, according to their own biases and preferences.
@MickMilee False conclusion.
The NT supports the OT in the Bible and harmonizes with perfection.
The other writing only came 600 years after Christ and in no way is consistent with the OT writings.
@MickMilee What if this is the reality...
God has revealed one truth and one way of salvation, that he provides
Satan has counterfeited the one true way by creating a host of religions, purposed to cause confusion, deception and eternal condemnation, to those who refuse the only true way
@EmagnetTim This fails because the Bible uses observational language, just like we do. We say "sunrise" and "sunset," even though we know the earth rotates. Joshua 10 describes what people saw, not a lesson in astronomy. The miracle was God prolonging the daylight, not teaching geocentrism.
@joshwhitlatch@GvilleMcGuirk You are bang in correct.
Are these people trusting in their works to endure?
If so, they're not believing on Christ and them thinking the work of Christ isn't enough tells me that they don't understand the work of propitiation.
@BrysonGray Are you really so blind that you'll let your pride take you to hell?
"not of works, lest any man should boast." Eph. 2:9
"to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." Rom 4:5
"not by works...." Titus 3:5
