Further, I humbly made A request to restart @Aeroflot_World operations in #lka. We unanimously agreed that strengthening bilateral relations in sectors such as tourism, trade & culture was paramount in reinforcing the friendship our two nations share.

Had a very productive telecon with the #Russia President, Vladimir Putin. While thanking him for all the support extended by his gvt to overcome the challenges of the past, I requested an offer of credit support to import fuel to #lka in defeating the current econ challenges.

Had a productive meeting with @AusHCSriLanka HC David Holly today. Synergy of Naval Ops incl the issue of illegal immigrants & attracting Aus investors was extensively discussed. My hope is that our bilateral partnership blossoms as Australia has always been a faithful friend.

Met with the Ambassador of #Japan to #LKA Hideaki Mizukoshi today. I thanked him for the assistance given by the Japanese gvt. during this crisis. He reiterated Japan’s willingness to maintain a robust bilateral relationship in the economic, social & cultural spheres.

Met with @USAmbSL, the #USA Ambassador in #lka. I conveyed my sincere thanks to @POTUS for the valuable support shown during these difficult times and the Ambassador assured the gvt of the USA’s continuous support in stabilizing the economy with the recent developments with #IMF.

Met the @WorldBank Director for #lka, @WorldBankNepal today where a decision was taken that 17 existing WB funded projects would be restructured to extend financial aid to #lka to manage the eco crisis. More assistance will follow after the @IMFNews negotiations are finalised.

I thank @POTUS for pledging an additional $20mil to assist #lka to provide nutritious meals to over 800k children & 27k pregnant women & lactating mothers for next 15 months. The people of #SriLanka are grateful for the assistance provided by the #USA in this time of need.

Had a productive meeting with the Russian Ambassador Yuri Materiy yesterday. Maintaining robust bilateral relations between our two countries, whilst focusing on developing trading opportunities was discussed extensively at this meeting.

Further, i want to thank the delegation for their encouragement in recognising the freedom of expression & space that's been utilised by the general public to express their protests. They also commended the economic reform taking place drawing parallels between the US & #lka.

President @JoeBiden pledged all necessary assistance including support needed to open LC's internationally for essential commodities. A $100m has been awarded to @ComBank_LK to uplift small scale businesses & approx $11m granted as humanitarian assistance.
