@patrickendrick It’s a data point / indicator? Eventually everyone reverts to the mean and xG highlights that their run is just that - a run of good form. This is just like strikers who aren’t scoring, but are making great runs. You see that they are getting in good positions. Goals will come.

@Bonetti That or Allegri wants veterans similarly to Conte in his rants about ‘top players’. Either way, seems to be a shift away from Red Bird youth plan that was pitched. Unless the plan all along was more akin to Atalanta - buy young, grow, then sell at top dollar - but with PE scale.

@Bonetti Reminds me of hiring Stramaccioni. For every zidane success story, there are a lot of others. Hope he’s ready for the rebuild and summer exits. Will be interested in how he tries to play as well. Will he try to keep/slowly evolve the Conte/Inzaghi system or make radical changes?

@herculezg Certainly in the discussion for best lb/lwb in the world. Jedi, Davies, Dimarco, Theo Hernandez, Grimaldo? I’m struggling ton identify more high profile left backs after those five. Maybe mendes from PSG and robbo at Liverpool. Who am I missing?

Alternatively with #pioliout continuing to rumble on, maybe an opportunity for a change in style (e.g., more fluid front three with more mobile striker).

@agundling All depends on how they spend the cash (if they have any net proceeds). Investments in stability, reasonable growth, and youth vs. chasing/overpaying for stars that don’t fit like they did after Neymar (coutinho, griezman, etc). The Neymar case study should be a cautionary tale.

@JoshXLs_ Very frustrated that I can’t evolve any in process evos that otherwise meet the criteria. I know that was exploited, but it feels like a penalty for some evos I ran out of time doing that are < 82 rated. At this point, considering SBCing some cards and starting over.

@Bonetti Do Chukwueze and Pulisic provide the work rate to track back needed for this formation? Leao doesn’t track back (outside of big games). Presuming this defends in a 442 with Pulisic filling Leao’s slot on the left in front of Theo? Morays dropping in deeper behind Leao as needed?

@SiavoushF That was my immediate reaction too. He has speed which we haven’t had regularly since Hakimi left. The pure pace to counter attack quickly adds a whole dimension to the team and hopefully means we can kill off games like we did under Conte with a late, quick counter.

@serieAchronpod 👎. He did not impress me in his previous stint at Roma and to my knowledge did not do that well in the Saudi league in his last apppintment. Smells like a hire on the cheap rather than the ideal candidate by ADL. Wondering if this signals imminent departures of key players.
