As a South Indian, my view on delimitation
South India has been doing the hard things right for decades, controlled population, investing in education, building strong economies, and contributing a disproportionate share to the country’s taxes and growth.
And now, with delimitation, it feels like that is being penalised, not rewarded ❌
States like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh focused on sustainable growth and governance, while population-heavy states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar now stand to gain more political power purely due to numbers.
Southern states contribute a disproportionately high share to India’s GDP and tax pool:
- Tamil Nadu → manufacturing powerhouse
- Karnataka → tech & startup capital
- Telangana → pharma & IT growth
- Andhra Pradesh → infrastructure & exports
This creates a troubling signal:
Do the right things → lose influence
Ignore them → gain representation
It’s not just about seats in Parliament, it’s about losing a voice in shaping the country’s future, despite contributing significantly to it.
As a South Indian, this doesn’t feel like fair representation. It feels like the rules are changing in a way that undermines progress and shifts power away from those who earned it.
98 percent of Indians will never see 1 cr savings in today's value.
Even if you have 50 lac ctc in india it will take 6-7 years minimum to reach 1 crore savings after inflation.
After 10 years your 1.8 cr will be today's 1 cr.
50 lakhs after taxes- 35 lakhs
That's 290k per month.
Total expenditure monthly for a family of 3 will be like 1-1.5 lakhs.
So total exp- 18 lacs
Gross savings- 17 lakhs
Now if you have any medical expenditure, yearly vacations and some other unplanned exp then again 2-3 lakhs gone.
So u have 14 lakhs now.
Now if you invest 14 lakhs and increase it with 5 percent every year and you make 7 percent returns ( after inflation)
It will take minimum 6-7 years to teach today's 1 crore value...
So 98 percent of Indians will never see 1cr savings in today's value ever.
You’re in a meeting. A decision needs to be made.
The data is incomplete. But sitting with uncertainty feels unbearable, so someone, often the highest-status person, proposes a solution. Suddenly, everyone feels relieved. Not because it’s the right answer, but because it’s an answer.
So what’s the solution?
When the cost of failure is low, decide quickly. When the cost of failure is high, slow down.
This means allowing yourself to sit with uncertainty.

Swing Trading – Position Sizing & Stops
1)Your stop should be based on the volatility of the stock.
Key metric = Average True Range (ATR)
2)Example Setup
Stock trading at 300
14-day ATR = 5
This means the stock tends to swing Rs 5 up/down in normal movement.
3) Why not a tight stop?
If you keep a stop at 295, it will likely be hit in normal volatility.
So, stops should account for ATR.
4) Standard Rule
Stop = Entry − 2 × ATR (also called 2N)
Eg 300 − (2 × 5) = 290
So your stop = 290
5) Risk per Share
Entry 300 − Stop 290 = Rs 10 risk per share
6) Portfolio Risk Appetite
Capital = Rs 10 lakhs
Risk Appetite = 2% = Rs 20,000
7) Position Size Formula
Position size = (Capital × Risk%) ÷ Risk per Share
= (10,00,000 × 2%) ÷ 10
= 20,000 ÷ 10
Your Posituon sizing is a function ofATR. When you have entered the stock during low volatility period assuming all other stock selection factors fulfilled, the formula will allow you to take relatively more positions.
8) Golden Rule
Define your risk per trade (1–2% is standard)
Place stops at multiples of ATR (not random)
Adjust position size accordingly
This keeps losses controlled while letting profits run.
Follow this consciously; Your trading will vastly improve,

Put Call Parity is the simplest equation one should be aware as it is useful to create synthetic longs and shorts. If the parity breaks, there is arbitrage opportunity, but it is very very rare.
C + K (exp)^(-r x T) = P + S
C is the call premium
K is the strike
r is the interest rate (Nifty options are priced at interest rates of 10% per annum)
T is time to expiry in years
P is the put premium
S is the underlying.
Actual eg.:
Nifty 07 Oct 2025 expiry 24400 strike, call premium is quoted at 488.55; put premium is quoted at 8.50; underlying is at 24836.3
Left hand side of the equation :
488.55 + 24400 X exp (-0.10 X 5/365) =24855
Right hand side of the equation:
8.50 + 24836.3 =24,844.8, ie around 24845
Both are close in reality.
Application :
While arbitrage opportunity is next to impossible, you can construct synthetic longs and shorts from the above equation.
For eg:
Synthetic long position is equivalent to the underlying, S in the above equation:
S = C - P + K x exp(-r X T)
This means that synthetic long is nothing but buying Call and Selling Put along with investing an amount in the present value of a FD instrument / bond equal to the strike. But in practice, K x exp(-rXT) can be ignored and only S = C - P can be used to construct synthetic longs.
Similarly synthetic shorts :
-S = -C + P , ignoring the K part.
It is good to understand this, though the practical application is quite limited in the current tech driven trading environment.
