We have taken note of the traffic challenges currently affecting movement around Kara Bridge in Ogun State and adjoining sections of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
Given the strategic importance of this corridor to residents, workers, businesses and travellers, we have mobilised the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) to strengthen traffic coordination and provide necessary assistance to road users.
TRACE personnel are working with relevant security, emergency and traffic management agencies to clear obstructions, prevent further gridlock and improve movement along the affected axis.
We urge motorists to approach the area with caution, avoid driving against traffic and refrain from creating additional lanes, as these actions often worsen congestion and delay emergency operations. Commercial drivers and articulated vehicle operators are particularly advised to exercise restraint and comply with all traffic directions.
Our immediate priority is to protect lives, maintain order and reduce the inconvenience being experienced by commuters. We will continue to monitor the situation and deploy the necessary personnel and resources until normal traffic flow is restored.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation of all road users.
@DapoAbiodunCON The government should have provided alternative routes before embarking on the Kara bridge repair. This is quite unfair to the people of Nigeria
