🤝 @SeadrillLtd has been awarded a contract for drilling two exploration wells for Equinor in the Barents Sea by use of the West Hercules. We're now looking forward to continuing our cooperation with this rig.
The fall refreeze is becoming more widespread across the #Arctic. Late season sea ice losses in the Chukchi and East Siberian Seas have extended the melt season through this week. I will post the total minimum extent numbers within the next few days.

Svalbard #polarbears may be one of the early populations to disappear. Bears there are part of the Barents Sea population & this area is losing sea ice at a phenomenal rate. I studied the bears there in 1996-2002: a lot of my former study area is no longer polar bear habitat.
