Hudson National - #88/Top 100
1996 - Tom Fazio

Perched above the Hudson River, Hudson National provides a wonderful getaway from the City just an hour away.

Fresh off a major renovation, this Fazio design has only improved. New grass, bunkers, irrigation, and some nice new design elements. The practice facility is incredible and the clubhouse view is top tier.

The Faz had to do major construction back in 1996 to make the site playable. Massive amounts of rock had to be blasted and moved, Tom’s specialty.

The course flows up and down the hillside, giving frequent views of the Hudson. It’s a very hilly site with some big walks, makes for a great workout.

Part of the renovation was creating more tight run offs around the green and it’s added a fun dimension. But it’s tough!! The rough is challenging and the fairways are relatively narrow. It’s not a place where you expect to shoot your handicap.

Awesome walk with a great host and some new friends.

Perfect weather for our aerification week. @DryJect and 1/2in solid tine on greens. Followed by @PlantFoodCo amendments and topdress. Vertical mow on fairways to reduce thatch.
