Between 1964 and 1986, Brands Hatch was host to the #BritishGP. In 1982, Károly Méhes saw Formula 1 live in person for the first time at the circuit:
"The crowd at the circuit was huge and it was already very hot. I couldn’t believe that I was actually there, one of the fans, rather than watching at home on ORF, the Austrian broadcaster. Our standing tickets cost us 10 pounds, including the race programme. For me, everything was pure Formula 1. The sweat, the dust, the empty beer cans all around, the merchandise tents full of F1 gadgets I couldn’t afford.
I grabbed what I could; advertising leaflets, free stickers, even printed materials lying on the ground. I took a few pics with my pocket camera – almost none of them worth keeping. Slowly we moved to a place from where we could see part of the straight coming towards the Clark curve which lead to the start/finish line.
I was a big Lauda fan after seeing him recover from his awful crash in 1976, but the gap between him and race leader Piquet was extending. Until the tenth lap, when we suddenly noticed there was no sign of Piquet. The Brazilian had retired with turbo failure and Lauda was the new leader! Niki cruised to the win ahead of the Ferraris of Pironi and Tambay. I couldn’t have wished for a better result."

Attendance rose to its highest-ever level at the Red Bull Ring for the 2026 #AustrianGP, with F1 reporting a weekend crowd of 320,000. Attendances at the Austrian race had been in a slight decline in recent seasons but the latest figure has bucked the trend, with the year-on-year figure increasing by 20,000.

"Despite not contesting the last four races of the 1970 season, Rindt had done enough to be crowned Formula 1’s only posthumous champion, defeating Jacky Ickx by five points. Devastated by the loss of his hero, Schweighofer turned to collecting memorabilia in his honour. And the collection he has amassed over the past 52 years is nothing short of astonishing."

Adam attended the #AustrianGP in 2023 and this was his take on the race weekend:
"I had an incredible weekend at the Red Bull Ring. The people are very welcoming and it was pretty easy to use the shuttles, which were booked through the official website. Tickets, accommodation and food were all reasonably priced without the ‘surge pricing’ that some circuits seem to impose on fans. I would definitely return to this race and stay in Graz, but next time I’d extend my trip to spend a couple of days being a tourist in both Graz and Vienna It’s such a beautiful part of the world to visit, let alone watch a bunch of cars race. The Red Bull Ring is one of the best circuits on the calendar."

The estimated cost of a race weekend at the #AustrianGP 👀
Austria remains one of the best races for fans on a budget, with affordable General Admission tickets and trackside camping helping to keep costs down at the Red Bull Ring. If you prefer staying in a hotel, the total weekend cost for Austria can quickly move higher due to the scarcity of good accommodation near the track. With good organization and decent facilities, a trip to the Red Bull Ring still feels like good value.

Willi from Austria attended last year's #AustrianGP and had Paddock Club access:
"The best part of the Paddock Club ticket was actually the full access to the support paddock for F2, F3 and the Porsche Supercup. It was basically one long pit lane, with F2 tents on one side and F3 tents on the other. You could walk around freely and watch the teams work on the cars. The mechanics were happy to answer questions. We were there before and after the sessions. It was amazing to stand just half a meter away from the cars as they lined up to leave for the F1 pit lane. Those cars are extremely loud. After each session, you could watch the cars return to parc fermé and walk across the whole pit lane for weighing. Some drivers were greeted by friends and family. It was total chaos when F3 returned and F2 were entering the track at the same time! You could easily end up blocking a car or mechanic. Sometimes you had to step into a garage tent just to get out of the way. You were right in the middle of the action." #F1
It's set to be a warm weekend trackside at the Red Bull Ring! Temperatures are expected to exceed 30°c, and there's a small chance of rain around race time on Sunday afternoon 👀

Mike from the USA attended last year's #AustrianGP:
"On race day, we sat in section C of the Red Bull Grandstand and it was overall pretty good. The only downside is that the seats allocated to Corner Hopping packages are quite low (we were in row 9). If we come to the race again, we would just do Sat and Sun individually, and try to choose the Start-Ziel (Main) grandstand for Saturday and either the Red Bull A/B (row 20 or higher) or T3 grandstand for the race. All of the grandstands we sat in had access to water, toilets, food and drink concessions, and decent track audio and visible screens.
I would recommend this location if you’re somewhat local or based in Europe, or if you’re traveling from further away and add some time to explore the region before or after the race. We added on a roadtrip through the Alps and enjoyed this as much or maybe more than the actual race, to be honest."

"A friend of mine, who knew about my passion for Formula 1 and especially for Niki Lauda, used to tell me how he would meet the Austrian champion most mornings at a particular set of traffic lights. “He would always be in his green Jaguar, wearing his trademark red cap. We saw each other so often that we began acknowledging each other with a quick nod.” I remember being pretty envious of my friend and his passing relationship with a legend."
