Just a reminder to everyone who thinks physical media isnt essential in 2026, I'd like to point out that if you want to buy Deadpool or Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1/2 digitally youre fucked.

The games were delisted years ago due to Activision not relicensing Marvel SO ONLY physical copies and pirated files exist outside of used PHYSICAL sales.

Eventually a game you like WILL get hit also.

I completely understand where you’re coming from, but for a lot of gamers physical discs are the only way they could afford to play games because they could get them secondhand. You can also give games to your younger siblings Which is a great way to introduce them to the games you were playing.

Most importantly though, as we saw from PlayStation this past week, if the media we buy is only digital, it can be taken away from us at a moment’s notice with no recourse. Imagine that, one day your entire library of games could be deleted overnight because technically you don’t own it.

@_NIXNE I'm good with my PS5 Pro. I just bought it and got a disk drive for it so I can play all my PS4 and PS5 games that are physical. Plus after seeing how they are shutting down the PS3 store, I don't wanna deal with that in the future on the PS6 since its gonna be all digital

@iCrazyTeddy Lets not forget about the backwards compatibility we never got so all of those PS3 games that never had a physical release are just gone forever because they weren't digitally ported to new gen. That's the problem with digital. They can shut it down and then you no longer have it

@PlayStation PS5 Pro is the last playstuon I'm buying then cause all my games are on a disk and its the whole reason I bought the disk drive for my Pro as well. I am not refusing everything for a PS6 because it doesn't have a disk option especially with how much it will probably cost.
