Great to see so many new and familiar faces at #GP22Connect. Thanks for celebrating 21 years of GPRA with us. Please drop in and say hello at our booth!
@nicjhig @GPSupervisors @Mark_Butler_MP Agreed Nicole. This unprecedented, baseless attack on the medical profession, and especially GPs, will only worsen the GP recruitment crisis. Final nail in the coffin? #Medicare#auspol
Today, CEO Jo-anne Chapman, Board Chair Scott Williams and @GPRAPresident Dr Antony Bolton met with @Mark_Butler_MP to discuss the potential solutions to the GP recruitment crisis. We value him taking the time to listen to our members’ views about the future GP workforce.
@_daniellemcm@DrSteveRobson Congratulations to you both! I'm sure there's a lot you have to get across in the coming weeks but be great to chat to you at some point (with G-TAC co-chairs) about GPiT employment reform process

GPRA ran Farm Stay this weekend, to highlight the benefits and importance of working as a rural GP to the future medical workforce. @RuralDoctorsAus @GregHuntMP #MedTwitter#MedStudents

Local media increasingly reporting on the #GP#work-force shortage in their area and seeking comment from @GPRALtd as the peak body for #Australia GP #Training https://t.co/hrWhOd6UKt
The Coalition’s election promise to boost funding for GP training and placements in rural areas is very welcome but the focus must be on real structural reform and ensuring that GP registrars are offered quality, safe training places. @Mark_Butler_MP@Barnaby_Joyce@gedkearney
Only major funding and structural reform will reverse Australia's GP workforce shortage. GP registrars in training must be supported with fairer pay and employment conditions. We ask the next government to prioritise employment reform for GPs.
@AlboMP@Mark_Butler_MP @GregHuntMP
Look forward to seeing more detail about the ALP’s proposed 50 new urgent GP care clinics across Australia. Only a properly funded Medicare scheme and better employment conditions will attract more junior doctors to train as GPs and solve our GP shortage.
Session 2 of our Q&A with Dr Antony Bolton is coming up: Thursday, March 24, 7:30 pm AEDT.
We're opening the floor for members to ask questions on the shifting training landscape and provide an opportunity for us to relay issues they want addressed.
