The #Jets made multiple attempts to replace Nathaniel Hackett this offseason, per @Connor_J_Hughes.
Connor notes that they were looking to hire someone above Hackett to run the show.
“Internally, there are legitimate concerns with Hackett’s ability to successfully run things.”
During camp last summer, Hackett would call a play and then Rodgers would completely change the play at the line.

The #Jets failed Sam Darnold. Never gave him a chance — not with coaching, surrounding talent, etc.
The Jets didn’t fail Zach Wilson — they failed in drafting him.

There were many in building who preferred keeping Darnold, trading No. 2 for a bounty. Instead Douglas, the ultimate decision maker, made his decision by putting the two QBs in a vacuum — if both Darnold & Wilson were there in that draft, who would he take?
His answer was Wilson, so he drafted Wilson.
Ultimately that turned out to be the wrong move.
