Wicknell Chivayo’s death has left me thinking about something deeper.
They say some people sell their years to the devil in exchange for wealth, power, fame and luxury.
One thing I know: before you make a deal with the devil, look at the price.
Nothing is free.
The devil will show you the mansion, the cars, the money, the influence and the lifestyle.
He will show you everything you desire. But he may not show you the bill.
And when the bill finally comes, you may discover that what you thought you were buying was never worth what you were giving away.
Today, a man who appeared to have everything is gone.
Wealth could not negotiate with death.
Money could not buy another morning.
Power could not extend one more breath.
So let us be careful what we worship.
Do not envy another person's wealth without knowing the price they may have paid for it.
Before you take the deal, look at the price.
Before you celebrate the riches, ask what was sacrificed to obtain them. Because nothing in this life is truly free.
Out goes Orange Democratic Movement.
In comes ObuRuto Despotic Movement.
ODM died with Raila and it is buried in Kang'o KaJaramogi!
ODM was the people and the people are with Edwin Sifuna.
If ODM believes removing Edwin Sifuna silences him, they have completely misread the moment.
You don’t bury a voice like that. You amplify it.
Sifuna didn’t fall because he was weak. He was pushed because he refused to kneel. He stood against timid leadership. He refused to dance for brokers. He spoke when others calculated. He chose country over comfort. And that is the one crime political establishments never forgive.
They thought they were ejecting him mid-flight.
But what actually happened?
The jet of compromise, cowardice, and internal betrayal is the one stalling in the air. The engines are sputtering. The pilots are confused. The crash is inevitable. Meanwhile, Sifuna is walking away from the wreckage without a scratch because he was never part of the rot to begin with.
History is ruthless with cowards and generous with rebels.
When parties punish leaders for defending the people, they expose themselves. When a secretary general is removed for speaking truth, it is not a disciplinary action it is a confession. A confession that the party fears independent thought. A confession that brokers have more power than voters. A confession that loyalty to the people is now rebellion.
Fine.
If the title is taken, the legitimacy shifts.
You can strip a position. You cannot strip credibility.
You can remove a secretary general. You cannot remove a spokesman of the people if the people themselves have chosen him.
Look at the political arithmetic. No community survives politically in isolation. No bloc wins by arrogance. No movement thrives by purging strong voices and replacing them with echo chambers. When bridges are burned internally, alliances collapse externally. That is political gravity it does not negotiate.
Seeds thrown away don’t die. They germinate elsewhere.
Every time Sifuna was attacked for being too vocal, he gained more ground. Every attempt to sideline him only widened his audience. Every effort to reduce him strengthened his national profile.
You don’t exile conviction.
You multiply it.
This moment will not be remembered as the day Sifuna fell. It will be remembered as the day a party revealed its fear of its own boldest defender.
And the people are watching.
They are tired of brokers. Tired of silence. Tired of backroom politics dressed as unity.
If leadership punishes courage, then courage becomes the opposition.
And when that happens, the establishment jet doesn’t just wobble.
It crashes.
Sifuna walks forward.
Not with a title handed by insiders.
But with authority handed by the streets.
I’m watching how Kenyans are reacting to Edwin Sifuna ’s purge by Oburu & ODM, and one thing is clear:
People aren’t angry because he lost a position.
They’re angry because they feel a voice was punished for being bold.
That alone tells you where the people’s heart is.
Maybe the problem isn’t Sifuna.
Maybe it’s what he reminded people ODM used to be.
When parties start fearing outspoken leaders, it’s rarely about discipline.
It’s about control.
History will remember this moment.
@quincygitahi@CarrefourKe@carrefourke need to style up. That is a breach! I personally experienced this at galleria branch. Bought a LG washing machine, paid cash in full for it to be delivered next day for a wedding as a grooms parents gift. The embarassment, man did we wait for a week after!
So sad to see jokers and busybodies try to troll #CITAM , the only church body l know that publishes its annual financial reports in the dailies. We are averse to accountability. Sad! Btw, some are just jealous of the order and structure . Mnajijua
Transformative Leader sets new VISION & actualizes it. He isn’t a captive of History. Think Genghis Khan, Lee Kuan Yew, Park Chung-hee.
Failed Leader blames HISTORY & takes refugee in its failures. Think Africa leaders except Paul Kagame, Thomas Sankara & Meles Zenawi.
@thenairobihosp why keep young babies (8months) on waiting for 5hrs straight just to get a diagnosis! Quite unfair...still at last step pharmacy at 20:36 from 15:00pm!

Susan Kihika needs to face her demons. The original handshake between Ruto and Uhuru in NAKURU in 2013 was between two communities, sharing government to loot and plunder. The handshake between Uhuru and Raila in 2018 was about all communities sharing the government #NewsNight
I thank the students & lecturers for the interactive session with students of the School of Law of the University Of Nairobi, during my lecture on the ‘Meaning of the handshake and its implications to Kenya’s political system.’ Pure joy!
