I think Nolan’s Odyssey was very obviously using the framework of an ancient story to make a point about the modern western world and was never meant to be a straight text to screen adaptation and if you don’t understand that maybe film is just not the medium for you.
@mmoorrggaannrr_ You should check out Tristan Tzara asap, they're like as good as Orchid lowkey. For LC I'd recommend the La Quite split first, both sides are a similar quality. The shikari split is also very good even though the shikari side is a little weak (everything else by them goated tho)
That’s not the reveal. It’s all the soldiers returning from Troy. Not just Odysseus and his men.
Odysseus is on Calypso’s island for 7 of the 8 years after the war. Meaning his men all died in year 1. The rumors of them wouldn’t persist and Odysseus wouldn’t be as worried about the future if it was just him and his men because he’d know they’re all dead.
It also doesn’t align with the theme or character arc if Odysseus is the one out there continually breaking Zeus’s Law. The point of the monsters is that Odysseus is encountering a world without hospitality and seeing what it’s like without Zeus’s Law to keep everyone civilized.
