The past 6 Saturday’s I’ve helped organize Girl’s Science Adventures through @uowgs with the @EugeneSciCntr. We hosted 20 middle schoolers for experiments on campus each weekend at no cost to students thanks to WGS funding! Wouldn’t be possible without partners like @uoadse!
Students from @EugeneSciCntr joined @uoadse & @uowgs this weekend to learn the Central Dogma! Lots of excitement as we extracted DNA from cheek cells and strawberries🍓! Thanks to @uowgs for funding and to Malvika for prepping modules and leading our group of amazing volunteers!

@echemkim I think an impactful power hour needs a focused goal, not just "have a DEI discussion." Bring in an external lead who is qualified to conduct DEI training and pay them for the work. Last, hold the power hour during the regular schedule so we don't need to sacrifice rest to engage
