This is disgraceful.
John Davidson should be sitting in that room celebrating I Swear like everyone else. Instead, the man whose LIFE inspired the most nominated film at the Scottish BAFTAs plans to watch from a separate room.
And let’s be clear: the UK has overwhelmingly stood behind John.
America? There’s still a hell of a lot of education to do.
What happened in February wasn’t John’s failure. His tic was involuntary. The BBC failed by broadcasting it. Yet the outrage and conversation that followed somehow left the disabled man carrying the consequences.
Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo received apologies and enormous sympathy.
Where was their public support for John?
Where was the acknowledgement that HE was the person living with the disability?
Months later, John is the one considering sitting in another room.
Think about how backwards that is.
John didn’t choose his tic.
He didn’t choose for the BBC to broadcast it.
He didn’t choose other people’s ignorance.
Yet HE is changing his behaviour.
HE is making himself less visible.
HE is carrying the burden.
John, you should not have to hide yourself away to protect other people from a disability they haven't bothered to understand.
Their ignorance is not your burden.
You belong in that fucking room.
SNP say we’re ‘feart’ of Scottish 🏴 Independence. The reason I’m 💩 scared is because of the calibre of Scottish Politicians across the Chambers. How the hell do they think that they can run Scotland?
Liberal Democrat’s - if they got into power, would remove all safeguarding sex based rights for women & girls in bathrooms, rape crisis centres & changing rooms. And fair sporting opportunities would be gone too! I can’t believe any sane woman (or dad) would vote for this.
Ed Davey wants to scrap protections for women in their private intimate spaces from men who want to self identify as a sex they are not! https://t.co/qff3Y8WmMg
Every glib, arrogant, virtue-signalling celebrity who’s broadcast the lie that kids will kill themselves if not allowed to transition deserves to have this read aloud to them non-stop through a megaphone for a year.
Western society is currently divided between people who know this is a man and are prepared to say so and those who know this is a man but lie out of obedience to an ideology. There is no third option. Literally nobody on earth thinks "Roxanne Tickle" is actually a woman.
I see that Stella Creasy is accusing me of leading a pitchfork mob against her, because I opined that she is less likeable and more hypocritical than the wild parakeet she mistook for an escaped pet.
For those who don’t know, Creasy is an elected politician and self-proclaimed ‘old-fashioned feminist’ who is ‘still fighting the patriarchy’. She’s more than once publicly defined herself against me (and my reaction was not to accuse her of leading a mob, even though I was probably averaging a dozen death threats a day at the point when the article below appeared.)
I thought it might be instructive for those of us who don’t share Creasy’s brand of ‘feminism’ to examine her campaigning record, so we can learn to do better.
Creasy wants women admitted to the male-only, exclusive, London-based private members Garrick Club, a change that would benefit rather privileged women like Creasy. Creasy is a mother who wants better accommodations for working mothers, a change that would benefit Creasy. Creasy takes selfies at a men-only Muslim march because that reminds everyone how non-racist she is, which benefits Creasy. Creasy asserts that ‘trans women are women’, which keeps her in good odour with her party’s most aggressive activists, and benefits Creasy.
However, keeping cross-dressing heterosexual men out of nurses’ changing rooms doesn’t benefit Creasy, because Creasy has never had to mop up other people’s piss, blood and vomit at work. Challenging the notion that a male basketball player becomes a girl if he says he is doesn’t benefit Creasy, who has no sporting ambitions. Speaking up against the patriarchy as practised by non-white men doesn’t benefit Creasy, who wants those selfie-opportunities. Criticising an ideological movement that persecutes, harasses and openly threatens women who don’t believe some women have penises wouldn't benefit Creasy, because she's already fully-signed up to self-id, where any man who says he's a woman must be taken at his word.
As the late Gloria Steinem said: ‘“Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman. It's about making life more fair for women everywhere.’
Creasy the patriarchy-challenger is provably more than happy to cosy up to men and misogynist movements when it suits her public profile and career advancement, no matter the harms those men might be causing less privileged women. By Steinem’s definition, what Stella espouses is not feminism, but Creasyism, and I suggest the emblem for this brave new rights movement should be an indignant parakeet with severely ruffled feathers.

It's so unlike trans activists to misrepresent opponents' arguments! I'm shocked, I tell you. SHOCKED!
Since you've innocently misunderstood the point, let me spell out the obvious even more clearly.
Let's take as an example a woman with MRKH syndrome, who was born with a congenital abnormality: an absent or undeveloped uterus. Notwithstanding that anomaly, she has a reproductive system organised around producing eggs instead of sperm, so she is unambiguously female. No male can have MRKH syndrome; one might even say that MRKH syndrome represents conclusive proof that the individual born with it is female.
I myself was born with a congenital abnormality: a bleeding disorder. I don't consider myself less human because of it, but my blood is demonstrably defective. That still doesn't make me a brand new type of human being, nor does it mean an inability to clot should be considered a standard trait of all human beings.
It's my good fortune that there's no anti-science ideological movement currently trying to hijack bleeding disorders for its own ends. Should that ever happen, though, I can promise you I'll fight to the bitter end not to have my medical history reduced to a glib and ignorant talking point, as gender identity ideologues insist on doing to men and women with DSDs.
The hypocrisy of the bbc (that I’ve just heard on bbc2) having a very dubious person on to criticise the witch hunt of Jason Arday whilst witch hunting live on air Jk Rowling - and the reporter said nothing! Seems as if some witch hunting is fine with the likes of the bbc & c4, which was just awful with reponse questioning yesterday. I thought they both had a legal obligation to present both sides? I loath hypocrisy & those that promote ‘do as I say, but not as I do’ politics.
.@MonicaLennon7 has spent years enthusiastically supporting gender self-ID, the erosion of sex-based distinctions and the rather extraordinary proposition that women who objected were suffering from some regrettable failure of enlightenment.
Now she cannot persuade three @ScottishLabour MSPs and three Labour MPs to put her on a leadership ballot and has discovered, with exquisite timing, the political importance of biological sex.
The culprit, apparently, is “misogyny and male entitlement”.
One can only admire the speed of the conversion.
Perhaps her colleagues are not wicked patriarchs conspiring to silence a woman. Perhaps they simply remember the GRR debacle, the women whose objections were dismissed, the legal wreckage that followed and the remarkable confidence with which all of it was defended.
There is something wonderfully circular about spending years telling women that material sex must yield to identity, only to invoke sex discrimination the instant your own political ambitions are frustrated.
Sometimes the patriarchy really is to blame.
And sometimes six colleagues just think your politics are dreadful.

Inch by inch, @ForWomenScot are reclaiming the ground ceded to men by a Scottish Government that has lost its grip on reality and decided to actively oppose the rights of 51% of the population. Policies introduced by stealth don’t survive exposure to the sunshine of the courts.
.@ForWomenScot have won a legal guarantee that SPS transgender prison guidance, which saw violent men housed with women, cannot be implemented again. It’s another remarkable achievement for FWS, and a dire reflection on the state of Scottish public bodies.
