My top ten shows of 2019: https://t.co/Dhn8XNpW74 And the past decade: https://t.co/oOfGjTq3aX Looking forward to more marvellous #TheaTO and #ComedyTO in the upcoming decade!
To close out the decade, my top #TheaTO shows of it, in chronological order (there's shows that could be considered #ComedyTO in the mix, too). I've a link for each (mostly to my writing, natch):
I'm still on FB for IRL friends & family content, and on Insta for pics (that get auto-shared to FB). But the inability to share relevant Cdn news links on Meta platforms is crippling (what's the point of Threads, even?). BSky is fast becoming my preferred SM platform.
I'm gradually moving my posting on #TheaTO, #TorontoComedy, #TOMusicCity, #BikeTO & more, over to BSky. Sure "X" boasts (for now) a 10X times wider reach, but the toxicity on this platform has reached intolerable levels. It just seems easier to connect w/ likeminded ppl there.
Bradford went from being one of the loudest cycling advocates on City Council to now pushing to spend tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to rip them out.
What happened, Brad? Is being anti-bike lane part of your 2026 mayoral platform? 🤔
Just ran into Taylor Swift at my local Tim Hortons. I said, "Taylor! Shouldn't you be at soundcheck?" She just grinned and said, "Not until I've had me double-double!"
#Toronto Taylorgeddon has begun. Just biked past massive line-ups along Front Street. Some Swifties were shivering in sparkly short skirts. (Those with hairy legs may have been faring better.)
We are so excited to open this show tomorrow night!

Fun for the whole family ages 9+, this charming coming-of-age story tells the story of Patty, a 16 year old girl who eats Pizza for breakfast, loves to play chess, & has a secret.

If you can't be at a #RemembanceDay ceremony this AM (I'll be a flag bearer @ the 07:30 Prospect Cemetery sunrise ceremony), the @CanWarMuseum livestream is simple & moving: @ 11:00, sunlight will shine on a marker in Memorial Hall: https://t.co/mff6onyhwy
This week, was fortunate to see (mostly) solo shows, feat. Maev Beaty on memory & family; Saul Rubinek on art & antisemitism; @ericwoolfe on insanity & The Elder Gods; & Amy Rutherford on political+personal. Gr8 stuff, but now crave an ensemble comedy (INTERIOR DESIGN?) #TheaTO
Disappointing analysis of a poll. Asking people across Ontario about something that happens in Toronto is a strange enough idea, but then not actually reporting whether people in Toronto support the curb on bike lanes is difficult to understand.
Again with the Harbourfront Centre closing up part of its ops without consulting the public! This time it’s Fleck Dance Theatre. What’s going on with the governance there? https://t.co/CbPdyrysRZ #topoli
Ugh. @HarbourfrontTO has announced that it will be shutting down the Fleck Dance Theatre permanently, after 41 years of it being an integral space for Toronto's dance and arts community, which also affects international touring artists. Brutal.

Yep, whether Trump wins or loses - and lots on this site, and the NY Times modelling folks say Trump is on course to victory - he should never have been allowed to run for president again, without any accountability for Jan 6th.

1986, cover story of Spy's first issue, "The 10 Most Embarrassing New Yorkers." His quote about why he should handle nuclear arms negotiations with the USSR: "It would take an hour and a half to learn everything there is to learn about missiles. I think I know most of it anyway."
RIP Kathleen McGee @Kathleen_McGee a wonderfully funny and generous comic to have worked with. A great loss to the Canadian comedy community. 💔 #KathleenMcGee
Remember in 2012 when Ford spent $300k to remove the painted bike lanes on Jarvis in order to supposedly "save 2 minutes". Driving travel time actually *increased* by 50% along that stretch, and speed went down. Combo of induced demand and street parking causing congestion.
