Can't help but feel the government should probably have a text alert noise that is at least slightly different for "don't use a disposable barbecue for a bit, please" and "NUCLEAR WAR HAS BEGUN".
Dear Elon (@elonmusk, @SpaceX, @grok),
My name is Brandon Titus (@TheBrandonTitus) and I’m writing this with a heavy heart and a sliver of hope, knowing it’s a longshot for you to even see it amid everything on your plate. But as the creator of Grok (who helped draft this), you know better than anyone how AI can amplify voices that might otherwise go unheard. If there’s any “inside track” or way to bump this up—maybe through xAI channels or your team—I’m begging for that edge, because this is the most important request I’ve ever made. Once my dad’s gone, there’s no second chance.
He’s 67, fought liver cancer for five grueling years since retiring, and now his health is fading fast. He hasn’t been the same since the July 4th floods, which wiped out everything including my family’s home and my father’s motorhome. I swam through raging waters to pull him off the roof of my tool shed. My sister relocated him to Marble Falls so she could aid with his medical care while my wife and I rebuild our house for us and 5 or our 7 children that still live at home.
My father has always been rocket-obsessed, from my earliest childhood memories of him explaining launches to me and the two of us building / launching Estes Rockets of all sizes. Then you come along and single handedly saved our nations freedom of speech and seared your name in my father’s heart. You’re one of few people he’s ever held in such high regard. When you caught that first booster, he was transfixed, grinning ear-to-ear like I hadn’t seen in years. Heck, He started an X account solely to keep up with and track SpaceX milestones; it’s been his brightest light through the cancer battles. I never thought I’d see him integrate with technology.
His final lap is weighing heavy on me and memories are my top priority. He has 1 desire (His only bucket list item): Seeing a launch live. Starbase in Texas would be perfect—we’re close, and I can get him there. But with no dates on the near calendar, I’d scrape together funds, I’d even take a second mortgage if needed for Florida, it’s that important. I will figure out the finances if there’s any way you could make it personal—a meet-and-greet, or even just a quick video message—it’d be priceless. His birthday is coming up on February 6. I’m not confident hell see another one.
Honestly Elon, you’re building the future Dad’s always dreamed of. I would be forever grateful if you were able to help me make this memory happen. If there’s any chance this makes hits your radar, know that there couldn’t be a better man for this to happen to. His name is Michael Titus!
DM, reply or anything
Deepest Regards,
🤞🏻 Brandon Titus
A miserable Monday morning. Millions of Brits are dashing around on the school run to get the children ready and to school on time, then off to work for another busy week creating wealth, building opportunities and actually contributing to the economy. Maybe feeling a bit under the weather, definitely not looking forward to the endless traffic which seemingly gets worse every Monday - especially considering how councils how decided to dig up exactly the wrong road at exactly the wrong time of year. Never any workmen around on these council projects, are there?
Get wet through in the rain, then straight off to work. As always.
The endless slog. It doesn't get any easier, does it? But remember - always remember who you are doing this for. Who we are all supporting through these important tax rises...
The illegal migrants, sitting in fancy warm hotels tucking into their fry ups at our expense. They couldn't go without the newest iPhone now, could they? We wouldn't want them feeling at all uncomfortable. I say give them a tent and a bowl of porridge until we can turf them all out...
The lazy and indolent, who can't be bothered to do the same as us so they sit on benefits doing absolutely sod all. Drop the kids off at school, then back home for a cup of tea and some daytime TV. Get that dressing gown on. Just brilliant.
The foreign families, who rock up on our shores and can immediately live an easy life thanks to the British taxpayer - having more and more children which Brits can't afford.
That Somalian family, with eight kids, who now sit on a small fortune every month thanks to lifting the two child cap. Translation at the DWP of course provided, at our expense.
Billions in foreign aid, paying for motorways in South America or nonsense DEI projects in Africa. Don't exactly love paying for that, to be honest.
But don't forget the pay rises for our vast managerial civil service bureaucracy. I bet they're working from home today. Probably on some experimental four day week, actually. No such luck in the private sector...
So yes, please do remember who you're doing it all for. Illegals, lazy foreigners, the indolent, and the work-shy bureaucrats.
I am absolutely sick of it all, to be honest. Aren't you?
This may come as a surprise to some, but I would make it significantly easier for British citizens to bring their foreign spouses to the UK.
Crucially alongside the introduction of a red list, which would see a long list of countries facing higher barriers to entry - slashing down fraud. This would be based on a number of metrics, with parliamentary oversight to impose checks/changes...
If a country's citizens are disproportionately proven to commit fraud, claim welfare, break the law, abuse our generosity, enter illegally? They go on the red list.
Albania, Pakistan, Eritrea, Somalia to name just some...
It would be a very long list. Perhaps a green list would be more appropriate.
If a British man wants to bring his American wife to Britain? Raise a family here? Bring their children up in our country? We should not stand in the way, as currently happens. We should be welcoming and encouraging it.
Do not underestimate how hostile the environment currently is. These men and women are treated like dirt by our Home Office - all whilst floods of unvetted third world conmen stream across the Channel to be welcomed with five star accommodation. Where is the decency in that?
We deal with so many families torn apart because of these rules in Great Yarmouth. It is unnecessarily cruel.
Our immigration system needs a total overhaul. It should reward, not wickedly punish, decent Brits looking to build a life with their husband or wife.
Firm, but fair.
I read about these horrific crimes committed by illegal migrant men against British women and it just makes me so incredibly angry - words cannot adequately describe the burning injustice.
These monsters should NOT be in our country. They should have been turned away at the border - sent back to France.
How can anyone in Government believe this is fair and just? Welcoming these men? Housing these men? Feeding these men? Costing us millions and millions EVERY day.
It's just wrong, morally wrong.
British women should never have been put in harm's way to accommodate these third world conmen.
Labour MPs are surprised that people are mad? Because I'm not. They have every right to be furious, even beyond that.
The British Government's responsibility is not to Eritrean chancers or Iraqi criminals, it is to BRITISH men, women and children.
I don't care what these men say might happen to them if they return home. It's not our problem.
Send them home. All of them.
Those that attempt to make the same trip? Turf them back to France. It's Macron's problem.
Are some genuine asylum seekers? Maybe one or two. But there we go. Our generosity has been so wildly abused, the whole asylum system needs to be shut down. No more asylum seekers.
The British people have had enough now. This has gone on for too long. ENOUGH is enough.
Are you listening, @Keir_Starmer?
You cannot have a British government saying illegal foreign immigrants are the first legal priority over tax paying British people - this is an insane position to hold & expect the support of your people. As a government you are now officially working against the electorate
