I have an interesting artifact from the "Orientalist" time-period of the late 1800s. It's a copy of Omar Khayyam's Rubaiyat from 1898, though the introduction to it is surprisingly free of the ignorance such as what was seen in the article about Burton #buslverse

I think this is a really interesting depiction of Shahrazad. I thought, contrary to many "oriental" paintings of the 18th century, this one looks convincing (source: wikipedia) #buslverse

I think it's interesting that all of the characters have Persian names, live in India, and are in a book called The Arabian Nights. I wonder if this is because the original Arabs were unsure of how India stood in relation to Persia #buslverse
