One race from Indiana’s primary that is not being talked about enough is Senate District 6.

It is fair to say @JayStarkeySen6 did not receive the same level of attention as some of the other candidates challenging Senate incumbents. He was taking on Rick Niemeyer, whose last name has been deeply rooted in local Republican politics for years.

It didn’t even seem like his opponent took him seriously until it was too late. While things stayed relatively quiet, momentum was steadily building on the ground through consistent grassroots organizing and direct, one on one conversations with voters happening every day across the district, including support from @IndianaAFP.

By Election Day, Starkey dominated Niemeyer’s home county by double digits and turned a race many around Indiana politics had largely written off into a clear grassroots win driven by local engagement.

This was a major victory that deserves a lot more attention.

Yesterday, @GovBraun & @LGMicahBeckwith signed Senate Bill 12, which officially outlawed ranked-choice voting (RCV) in Indiana. We are now the 18th state to prohibit RCV. 🇺🇸

Congress is currently considering HR 7300, the “Make Elections Great Again Act,” which would ban RCV at the federal level, among other critical election integrity reforms. I hope they get it done!
