If you want to see any serious critique of Andy Burnham's 'more devolution' from the perspective of the devolved Govts then forget BBC Scotland. You have to turn to BBC Wales. BBC Scotland is genuinely finished as a trusted political news vendor.
Laura Maxwell and Lynsey Bews indulging in more tabloid BritNat propaganda by spicing up the Yes Scotland smear to make it look like an SNP scandal.
Maxwell claims Alex Salmond set up Yes Scotland in 2014. False. It was a cross party venture set up in 2012.
Both conflate the company - Yes Scotland Ltd - with the campaign group Yes Scotland.
Both then introduce political attacks from Unionists which conflate the SNP finance probe with this complaint.
Unadulterated propaganda masquerading as news.
Using the police as a political weapon to undermine the SNP has been going on for several years. Each time the complaint becomes a major headline on the BBC. The headlines below are a few examples. There are many more.
Weird* that BBC Scotland completely ignored Colin Smyth's scheduled court date for alleged drunk driving yet has mobilised its entire roster for a complaint about Yes Scotland funds that, as yet, has zero evidence of wrongdoing.
*Entirely expected.
The threshold for deciding whether an SNPBad story merited high-profile coverage on BBC Scotland used to be pretty high. It required *some* evidential basis. Not any more. Anything is considered newsworthy these days. Simply making a complaint or an allegation is reason enough.
The UK government is attempting to block the Scottish Government from having an Independence Referendum.
If you believe it is up to Scotland to decide their own future and their own independence.
Show your support.
Another vindication for those stalwarts at the UN.
It appears once again they were right. In 1707 the Scottish Parliament lacked the authority to sign off the treaty as it was ultra vires.
The McKee interview was nothing whatsoever to do with Burnham and more devolution. Gary Robertson was searching for a headline in his usual populist/interrupting manner. He got nowhere in an interview that *went* nowhere. McKee knew his game and was well prepared.
THIS IS SATANIC ✡️🇮🇱
An Israeli soldier throws a stun grenade into a car carrying a Palestinian family, trapping them inside to absorb the blast.
Reports confirm one of the children inside is now permanently blinded for life.
Just to be clear, then. FIFA:
1) can't possibly intervene when Iran are forced to move, a referee is denied a visa, or fans are barred from the USA
2) can absolutely intervene when a decision goes against the USA that Donald Trump doesn't like
Smashing. All know where we stand
So, a man who’s just become an MP , who isn’t the leader of the Labour Party, who isn’t the Prime Minister of the UK & who didn’t lead his party to a General Election victory- gets to decide whether people in Scotland can or can’t have a Referendum on the Independence of Scotland
The disappearance of 'Scottish Labour' from the news cycle is a giveaway that it isn't a genuine party. Genuine political parties don't disappear after electoral collapse. They become the subject of debate over strategy. Leadership contenders emerge. Their predicament is news.
This isn't happening with Scottish Labour. There's just no interest in reviewing the Holyrood election or Sarwar's role in the defeat. Why is that?
It isn't a party. That's why. It's a UK Labour media centre. Scottish Labour is a de-facto extension of the very media that should be scrutinising it. It is a conduit set up to feed the likes of Paul Hutcheon, Glenn Campbell and others with SNPBad attack ammunition.
It isn't there to craft policy. The wellbeing of Scotland is not its priority. That's why it's pushing nuclear power stations. It's there to assist an ally, the anti-SNP media, to create and push anti-SNP narratives.
The media isn't interested in pursuing Sarwar. He's an asset. That's why he was able to call on Starmer to resign only days after giving the PM his full backing. Indeed his media colleagues framed the transparent stunt as an act of bravery. They used it as an excuse *not* to confront Sarwar on Labour's horrendous record and the GB Energy con.
Whoever replaces Sarwar, if he resigns, will back Andy Burnham to the hilt no matter what the PM in waiting says about Scotland. They'll issue statements of support whilst attacking the SNP. That's what a media centre does.
In 1974, the UK Government commissioned a report on North Sea oil. The report found that an independent Scotland would be far richer than if it remained in the Union. Its conclusions were hidden for thirty years until a Freedom of Information request forced their release.
