@EveLaurence I think I do the same with the women I write about. I write them as I wish they could have been, as I saw them in the moments when I loved them, and as I imagined they might have been if life had been kinder to them.
@EveLaurence I think there’s something beautiful about creating something out of love, heartbreak, longing, or whatever it is that makes us human. Maybe I’ll never build a monument or leave something behind that lasts forever, but if something I write makes someone feel understood.
@EveLaurence I write poetry, so I think about this a lot. There’s something bittersweet about putting your thoughts, feelings, and pieces of your soul into words knowing you might never know who reads them or whether they’ll mean anything to anyone after you’re gone. But I still write.
@EveLaurence It’s not about who’s more desperate; it’s about why male desire is normalised while female desire is used to degrade women. Some men aren’t angry because the point is wrong they’re angry because it challenges the ego and entitlement they’ve been taught to associate with sex.
@EveLaurence challenges the narrative that men are the ones in control and women are the ones desperate for attention. The reality is that plenty of men will go to great lengths for sex, yet women are still shamed for having the same desires or for simply having the power to say no.
