@paradox303_ It's below top level that has the most room for the cheaters - if you put any cash on literally anything, there'll be greed-fuelled villains. From smurfs to avoid ELO caps, to entering into multiple teams with different accounts, it's not uncommon and very hard to verify w/o WE..
@paradox303_ In the top level of a well-established esport, newer or returning players (esp. without a face) should rightly be held to a higher level of scrutiny.
Maybe it's possible to have happened at that level before, but it would be tricky to perform as WE can be brought in to verify.
@TheViperAOE Solid take.
Players' responsibility to adhere to tourny rules/schedule. Admin's responsibility to ensure rules/schedule are upheld & dish out punishments. Both parties' responsibility to communicate to ensure this happens.
_Bad_ choices by admin, but sad effort by some players.
@StumpyGoblin@TeamEndpoint@JohnnyBoi_i@EmileCole93@CallumTheShogun It was a great medium to experience it through - it's the most I've watched of a major in years!
I think I've gradually become a bit numb to the baseline hype level that comes with LAN casts, at least when watching online; having something more relaxed and genuine...👌
@paradox303_@AgeOfEmpires We've not seen it together yet, but I agree - really hoping that the combo of castles/unique units/monks, monasteries/animations etc add up into a much more varied feeling battlefield while keeping the clarity we love - would be a great bit of polish for the game.
We're heading to @EPICLAN#epic45 July 17-20th in Kettering!

An update from us - we have a survey out about "LAN Madness: On Tour", a prospective idea while we're still in limbo with our existing event - read about it and express your opinion here: https://t.co/KVVrJnISGe
We'll review the results at the end of this coming weekend.
Cheers!
@xilvobs The bastards knew we'd buy it to find out though, and for that, we should never forgive :(
(disclaimer: this *might* not have been the first unholy union I've bought out of sheer curiosity...)
Scottish Esports, a Community Interest Company (CIC), officially launches as the national body for esports in Scotland! 🎮🏴

@Heyoka_TV@FraserR6S@TankMuseum My folks live not far so I've been a couple times - it's a great museum! Monkey World is right next door and Swanage/Corfe Castle is just down the road :)
@thomas_moseley Yeah a 20m fiber HDMI would probably solve all that.
Next upgrade would be replacing the cameras I think; one shows nothing on the back panel when outputting HDMI (and has a broken mode wheel) and the other doesn't do 60FPS properly😅
@thomas_moseley I plugged my cameras and my laptop in - it. just. worked.
Might need ethernet or SDI extenders or fibre HDMI for longer distances, and may need more for older consoles if ever wanting that through it, but... dayum.
@paradox303_@T90Official@Hera_Aoe It becomes an awfully tricky balance of features vs needing money to keep going/growing.
For CA, they're v. generous with the free featureset - so the choice to support may mostly come from general appreciation of the devs from a community that knows the overall value they bring.
@T90Official There's so much that happens behind the scenes, stretching back a long time before events that people don't normally see.
Timelines, deadlines, budget, what/who are involved at which point. Factors that lead into the end product in all its glory!
Would be great content 👍
