@JessMorris2020 Fascinating read. I showed it to my mother who trained with Marie Rambert in the 50's. Marie was her dance teacher. There are some interesting facts even she didn't know. Great research.
@KayleighAWright It should be fine. We get them nesting all the time and have had exactly the same worry
But they are good parents. They appear to stay away for long periods but they won't have abandoned it.
@Rourke199811 If you don't mind me asking, could you let me know the name of this documentary so I may look for it on catch up tv? My Mother was also trained by Marie Rambert in the early 50's and I would love to show her it.
@LibraryRory Thanks for the reply. It was of interest to a relative of mine who was with Marie Rambert around 1952 in London. She remembers all the people on the poster and regularly saw them in the dance studio. She was really pleased seeing the poster, it brought back many memories.

@darkstarhotel@JuliaBradbury I didn't know about the smugglers' tunnel. The surgeon's name was William which is why I thought it was your Uncle Bill. TIme wise I think William would have occupied it after your Uncle. He was there until about 2005 then built a smaller house in the grounds to live in.
