Last week Ed Barrett, Planning Director in our Dublin office, joined Solar Ireland’s ‘Grid-Forming and the Future of Solar in Ireland’ webinar.
Key themes that were explored included the emerging role and potential of ‘Grid-Forming’ technology in supporting system stability, including voltage and frequency control, and the likely impacts of same on the delivery of solar and solar-plus-storage projects.
The range of perspectives shared across the panel was helpful in highlighting both the opportunities and potential challenges ahead as the grid system continues to evolve.
Overall, a timely and informative session that reinforced the importance of ongoing collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the industry.
We are delighted to attend the launch of the Belfast Harbour 2050 Masterplan today.
This sets out a 25-year framework to enhance trade and logistics capacity, support regional economic growth, promote clean energy, and deliver vibrant, inclusive waterfront communities.
Belfast Harbour ensures the operational resilience and capacity of the port as well as playing a central role in the regeneration of Belfast’s waterfront. It continues to evolve as a place that integrates trade, business, housing, leisure, and green space; delivering benefits for Belfast and the region.
Our strategic communications team have worked with Belfast Harbour to devise and implement a comprehensive consultation process on the draft masterplan. This has included a significant number of key stakeholder briefings, staffed exhibitions, and an online consultation platform. The consultation exercise has led to a masterplan which is the product of sustained and genuine engagement, with strong support for the strategic direction and long-term vision which has been set out.
We are pleased to announce that we have become a member of Solar Energy UK, the established trade association representing the entire solar and energy storage value chain.
