Wow. Highly recommend taking 7 minutes away from watching Congress. The British news media perfectly captured today close-up. May all US media request to re-air this. It’s already packaged, impactful and brings clarity to the day. @ReliableSources
What many are saying is true:
If this were Black Lives Matter storming the Capitol, tanks would have been in the city by now.
The response tells the story of our nation’s racist history and present.
How can we stop it from being the future?
At the root of all this seditious talk on the tape and in court is racism. Donald Trump and his Republican allies just don't think black people should vote. It's Fulton County, it's Detroit, its Philly...they only challenge where blacks make up a large percentage of voters.
@sugaree71 Is it known who leaked the audio of Trump’s phone call with the Georgia Secretary of State? I strongly believed it was Raffensperger himself, but I’ve been a bit out of the loop all weekend so I wasn’t sure.
@LutherEvers @ChuckWendig It’s never been more clear that what passes for criminal (or civil) justice in America is often little more than a patronage mill. Money literally buys additional rights and options, and most severe consequences are reserved for those who can’t grease the right palms.
@shannonrwatts It's interesting to see how some Conservatives, while condemning Liberals who even accidentally suggest so much as breaking a window during a protest...seem to very quickly escalate their disapproval of someone into a desire to watch them die in as excruciating a way possible.
@PEZ_Heads@ComplexWays@Mylesdad44@DeAnnaLouWells@TheNightGallery@BAnjeeB Exactly. It's the amazing thing about the science fiction genre that I first learned when studying the behind the scenes of Star Trek: using allegory, metaphor & inference to make commentaries that would normally be shunned, if not censored otherwise.
@shannonrwatts Happy Birthday...and New Year...and thank you SO much for everything you’ve done. You’ve truly made a difference, and the best is yet to come!
@DAntion@ComplexWays @faithantion @rp_415 @TheNightGallery It never fails to amaze...and sometimes sadden me...how on point and relevant this series is. Serling, like Shakespeare before him, understood the true nature of the human condition as few others have. Such that the 50’s & 60’s settings become timeless rather than dated.
