Well. I guess the wilderness years are back... Honestly I think this is what Doctor Who needs. The last time the show felt like it had any sense of proper direction was years ago and if they carried on it would of been like beating a dead horse trying to get it to the races

The guy is one of the best actors of his generation with some of the best performances to come out of the past 20 years... I'm sure he is absolutely fine with not being cast in the extremely controversial wizard TV show.

Visually this clearly does not separate itself from the Jon Watts trilogy, which is disappointing. Not nearly as dark and depressing as I was expecting, but it is only the first trailer. Worried it is already looking overstuffed.
