Diamondback moth activity remains high across parts of WA. Monitor canola crops closely, use economic thresholds to guide treatment decisions, and remember late-season spraying is often less profitable than earlier intervention. #PestFactsWA @GRDCWest

Oat diseases detected across WA, including leaf rust (Northam, Hyden, Karlgarin, Kondinin) & septoria avenae blotch (Moonyoonooka, Northam, Dale). As crops near maturity, fungicides mostly unlikely to be economically beneficial. #PestFactsWA @GRDCWest

🌾Grow lupins? We want to hear from you!
What’s working, what isn’t, and what could make lupins a better fit in your farming system?

Take our 7-minute grower survey and share your experience. Your input will help build a clearer picture of how lupins are managed locally and where future R&D could make a difference.

👉 Complete the survey here: https://t.co/cFFal45wsx

This survey is part of a @TheGRDC funded project led by the Grower Group Alliance (GGA) and delivered locally by @FaceyGroup, helping build a better understanding of lupin management across our region and inform future R&D.

🌾 WHAT A WEEK IT WAS!

This time last week, we were wrapping up a massive five-day road trip, bringing @TheGRDC Harvester Set-Up Workshops to growers across the region.

From Cascade to Mount Sheridan, Carrolup, Kukerin & Quairading, we covered plenty of kilometres – and shared a wealth of harvest knowledge along the way!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, asked questions, shared experiences & got involved in the practical discussions.

Across the five workshops, our specialist presenters shared their expertise on reducing harvest losses, improving harvester efficiency, HWSC, fire prevention, grain storage & getting more from your harvest operation.

A big thank you to @PrimarySales & our fellow grower groups for working alongside @FaceyGroup to bring these workshops to the region – and especially to our specialist presenters for generously sharing their time, knowledge & experience.

Five days. Five communities. Plenty of kilometres. A huge amount of knowledge shared.

Now to put it all into practice as harvest approaches!

KUKERIN – IT’S ON THIS THURSDAY! 🚜🌾

The crop is nearly ready. Is your harvester set up to make the most of it?

This Thursday, join experienced harvest specialists at the @theGRDC Harvester Set-Up Workshop in Kukerin for a practical day focused on getting more from your machine when harvest gets underway.

Learn how to measure and reduce grain losses, improve capacity and efficiency, optimise your HWSC set-up and reduce harvester fire risk.

Get practical information on mill systems, including iHSD, Seed Terminator and SCU, plus chaff decks and chaff lining, and learn how different set-ups can support effective harvest weed seed control.

Most importantly, it’s your chance to ask the specialists questions and pick up practical adjustments you can apply to your own harvest operation.

Increased native budworm moth flights recorded across parts of the central, eastern and south-eastern grainbelt. Monitor crops - small caterpillars can quickly damage pulses, while canola and lupins remain at risk as crops mature. #PestFactsWA @GRDCWest https://t.co/7FuCbDsaLn

Our latest N-Watch results are in, and they’ve given us plenty to think about!

Perillup and Cranbrook are showing some interesting differences between tissue and soil N results as well as between each treatment.

N-Watch is about following these sites throughout the season all the way to seeding in 2027, rather than looking at one result in isolation. We’ll continue testing, reviewing the data and watching how each of the different nitrogen strategies responds as the season progresses.
