Last year @JamesGunn stopped his security escort to talk to my SO's nephew in a Star-Lord costume. Unscripted magnanimity. The suggestion that some off-handed dark humor means he is a pedophile is politically motivated character assassination. @Disney#RehireJamesGunn#RehireGunn
Last election got about 32% of the vote, this time they got 34% That's not an embrace of Labour's liberal and progressive vision, but rather just Conservative vulnerability on their right flank due to accumulated failures. 4/
Third ๐ Parties ๐ Are ๐ Always ๐ Toxic ๐
Yes the left/liberal parties got a plurality (34 + 12 + 7 = 53%) in the UK vs the conservative parties (24 + 14 = 38%).
This reinforces why third parties are anti-democratic. 1/
Control of Parliament literally swings based solely whose 3rd party is a bigger spoiler.
The reason it changed this time is that Reform party siphoned off more Conservative votes than the Greens and Liberal Democrats siphoned off Labour votes. 3/
Party unity is the most important thing in politics. The reason Tories had dominance for so long is only because British liberals + leftists have been divided between Labour and Liberal Democrats and Green for decades. 2/
What a moment. Don't let anyone minimize it by saying that progressives didn't get everything they wanted. Democrats โ and it was only Democrats โ have given us a real chance at avoiding an existential climate crisis.
Clarence Thomas: "We should reconsider all of this Court's substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell."
Also Clarence Thomas: "But the Constitution can, and must, apply to circumstances beyond those the Founders specifically anticipated."
@TheRealJBonds@RTNBA This isn't even about who is the better PG, it's about synergy. Steph complements LeBron better than Magic does for KD. If LeBron and Magic are handling the rock, Steph is a better spot-up shooter than KD.
@ChaseSupport What department handles support for Shop Through Chase in Ultimate Rewards? I've been transferred three times and no one has any idea who can help me.
I'm legitimately curious as to "How Much" Biden was supposed to win by in order to justify his nomination? 5 million? 10 million? 375 EC votes? Biden (appears to have) beaten a cheating incumbent president, against massive voter suppression, during a pandemic. That's good right?
I understand the disappointment w/ downballot races but if anything that bolsters Biden's case. Voters choses him as a specific repudiation of Trump while still voting for Republicans down-ballot (and that's assuming no vote hacking or fraud). Take the (apparent) win folks
There's this argument that Trump would have won handily if it weren't for the pandemic. But his approval rating barely budged after the outbreak hit.
It seems equally, likely if not more likely, that *literally nothing mattered* โย campaigns, huge world events, none of it.

The protest voters set back their agenda for decades.
What if "protest voters" in '16 had voted for someone who could win? SCOTUS would be 6-3 liberal justices. Abortion rights protected, voting rights stronger, & Medicare for All possible in the future without SCOTUS killing it.
All gone. Protesting gets nothing & costs a lot.
