Plastic production & waste have continued to skyrocket. According to scientists, nearly 700 million metric tons of plastic will enter the environment in the next two decades, even with immediate action. What does this mean for #globalplastictreaty? should this worry us? @UNEP.
My opinion article. "Observers warn that the devil is in the details; the hard work of getting enough countries to agree on the scope and provisions of the treaty will be an uphill task and the process could take years to conclude." https://t.co/SUorYASNhB @jameswakibia#unea5.2
Activists and environmental policymakers around the world have called for a broad effort to address plastics pollution, which they say is as much a global problem- Washington Post https://t.co/1NuP5I6Pnl

My colleague & friend @benogeh training waste pickers from different corners of Kenya on the role media plays in advocacy. The meeting being held at a Nairobi hotel is organized by @CEJADKenya.

I am many miles away from the ocean and this image reminds me that what we do here ''away from the oceans'' affects the oceans in tremendous ways. If we change what we do here, the change will flow into the ocean. Let's stop the flow of plastics into the oceans #WorldOceansDay
More fracking, more plastic, more freaking problems! 99% of plastic is made from fossil fuels. Only 9% of all plastic ever made globally has been recycled.
