We're proud to announce the opening of our new Dry Waste Center at Hodgaon village near Mangaon!
On 15/10/2021 our team alongwith local representatives inaugurated the DWC which will serve as an aggregation point for the recyclable waste generated by the villages in the area.
Over the course of our journey, we're constantly learning- and working with the front-line of the waste management system in our country has taught us a lot, to say the least.
We're now excited to share some of the perspective and inspiring stories that we have gained, with you!
After each session in each class, we hand out dry waste bags for segregation and collection of dry waste. GCF prefers to measure the success of each program in tonnes diverted from landfill, and this step helps us do just that!

This step is the most rewarding part of the project- conducting the sessions and engaging with the students!
Over our experience, GCF teams have conducted sessions for Grades 1-12 and colleges, and had a lot of fun doing it!

We at GCF cannot stress the importance of this step enough- Recording Data! Apart from understanding the impact of the project, it also acts as a check to identify any breakdowns in the process.

The next step is one of the most important, as it deals with almost 70% of the waste being generated by any waste generator daily- composting of wet/ organic waste!
