🚁 Behind the scenes at Queen Alexandra Hospital helipad 🚁

Today I had a rare opportunity to access the helicopter landing area at Queen Alexandra Hospital and capture photos and drone footage from inside the facility. A huge thank you to the amazing people who made this possible – I really appreciate the opportunity.

In this video you can see what the helipad looks like with all the lights switched on, ready to guide a helicopter safely to the hospital. It’s incredible to see up close the place where life-saving missions arrive and where every second counts.

I hope you enjoy the footage and get a unique look at this important part of the hospital.

Yesterday the HELP Appeal funded helipad on #Mull, was officially opened by John Wilson, who together with the late Dr. Bill Thomson, were responsible for the development of its Hospital. It has been used 2⃣0⃣ TIMES since opening in March.

@Kinloss_Bks has completed their 3-week deployment to #Gigha to build a new emergency helipad. The concrete requires a few weeks to cure before being painted so the aim is for the site to be fully operational by May 2024. We can't wait!

We can't wait for the #Summer because #Sheffield Children's Hospital helipad will be opening! Constructed using 30 tons of aluminium, it is expected to see around 12 emergency landings every year and around 30 transfers for specialist care.
