BREAKING: A horrifying Trump administration memo leaks, revealing that they intend on sending non-criminal migrants to Guantanamo Bay despite previously stating they would only send the "worst" offenders there.

According to a government memo obtained by CBS News, officials have converted facilities inside the Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba into detainee holding sites for undocumented migrants.

A previously undisclosed agreement between the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense indicates that officials have been empowered with broad discretion to decide who gets sent to the island.

The memo states that the Naval Base can be used to house deportees who have "a nexus to a transnational criminal organization (TCO) or criminal drug activity."

That criterion is given a very wide definition, and could simply mean that they allegedly paid someone with alleged criminal connections to help them enter the United States. It includes asylum-seekers. It's an incredibly wide net designed to scoop up anyone the administration chooses to target.

Donald Trump had previously claimed that such extreme measures would be strictly reserved for "high-priority criminal aliens." However, the memo reveals no mention of a genuine criminal assessment for screening detainees.

As usual, Trump lied to us and the real state of affairs is so much worse than we feared. It's time for Congress to launch a full investigation into these heinous proceedings.
