➡️ **Who are the Zunkz?**

*The peoples punks, we are the Zunkz*. Picking up where the CryptoPunks left off making sure no one is left behind. An inclusive 10,000 PFP collection with their very own Zpets as companions.

➡️ **Zunkz History**

The Zunkz were first known as the *CryptoZunks*, they were created by an anonymous team and minted out in August 2021 for 0.05 ETH per Zunk. By the end of September most of the controlling team had vanished leaving 1 team member in control *Kane*. Unfortunately Kane was inactive barely communicating with the community or community team, making promises but never delivering, and had given no control to anyone. The Discord, Twitter, wallets, and smart contracts were all controlled by Kane and no one else, handcuffing the project. This left the community and community team unable to do anything but wait and hope for Kane to show up and produce for the project.

By the end of October 2021 the floor price had crashed to .001 ETH as the community was obviously frustrated and unhappy with the lack of communication and production from Kane. At this point the project was dead, the floor price was basically 0 and the only folks in the Discord were the community team and maybe 2-3 members that would pop in hoping for any information, and this would be the situation for the next 5 months. In March 2022 Kane was officially gone, with a few months of no contact from Kane the project was officially deemed a rug, it was pretty evident that the community had already decided this was the outcome as they were already gone, it was only the community team still around in the Discord.

The community team never left, for the next 2 months the team considered all the options to try and push the CryptoZunks project forward, but with no control there was not a whole lot that could be done. In April the community team decided to take a chance, they were going to attempt to fork/copy the CryptoZunks collection into a new project rebranded as the *Zunkz* and allow the CryptoZunks holders the ability to mint their Zunks 1 to 1 with the new Zunkz for an extremely lost cost. The next month was all preparation, setting up a new Discord, new social accounts, new smart contracts, and toughest of all getting the original CryptoZunks holders that possibly wanted to participate in the rebranding to migrate to the new Zunkz project.

Then the unthinkable happened...

The news was released that *Zagabond* the creator of *Azuki* was the one who created *CryptoZunks*, *CryptoPhunks*, and *Tendies*. Zagabond stated in his publication that he created these projects but left them as he felt their potential was capped, and learning from these experiences he went and created what is now known as one of the top projects out to date, Azuki.

It is understandable that this did not sit well with the public and the holders of these projects that he had abandoned. With the assistance of a few CryptoPhunks members and the CryptoZunks community team it was negotiated with Zagabond that he would return back to these projects the smart contracts, and the funds that the projects had accumulated. After a few weeks of meetings and negotiations the CryptoZunks community team received all the smart contracts and the funds for the project which now sit in 2 Gnosis multi-signature wallets.

Fast forward to today, the CryptoZunks are no longer, the project has been rebranded to the Zunkz and is steadily growing again. #zunkz #zibes
