What a great way to celebrate #InternationalPodiatryDay with an update from an @OxleasQi podiatry project, some fabulous change ideas from Arthur and his team, I look forward to seeing the data they have gathered, despite the challenges they have faced from covid
Its #InternationalPodiatryDay today! Podiatrists play a vital role in the NHS.
Our team continued to treat patients throughout COVID to;
➡️ reduce lower limb amputations
➡️treat infections
➡️provide care in their own homes with virtual MDT working
➡️ avoid ulcerations
We are celebrating #InternationalPodiatryDay today. Podiatrists provide a vital service to thousands of people every day, & work across the life course from childhood right through to palliative care. Podiatrists keep people active and mobile. #Podiatry4prevention
We were clearing out our office this week & we found this letter from a patient (2018). A lovely handwritten compliment to our Podiatrist, Podiatry student & receptionist! Huge thanks to Wendy & Lorraine, receptionists at Kidbrooke, for being such an amazing part of our team 🙌
Thank you @OxHealthNurse 🙌 there is definitely so much more to our role than trimming toe nails 👣 we’d love to talk to anyone interested in studying #podiatry & hopefully soon we will have our first Podiatry apprentice! @eltasker1
The impact we as health care professionals can have, podiatry is one of those endangered professions, have you ever considered it as a career? Lots more to it than trimming toe nails!! DW @felicityPodAHP and colleagues about their apprenticeship courses!
2/2 To receive written compliments like this really do make our job worthwhile. Thank you - she will be greatly missed by the Podiatry Team. @matthewtrainer @oxleaschair@OxPatientExp
1/2 We received this lovely written letter from one of our patients daughters. Her mother has sadly recently passed away. Her mother has been on our caseload for many years and we’re so glad our service made an impact to both patient and family ⬇️
Worsening symptoms include;
➡️ Pain localised to the calf when resting or sleeping
➡️ Foot ulceration (especially gangrene or necrosis)
If you are unsure we have a dedicated Podiatrist triaging daily to answer your concerns so please do not hesitate to contact our team 👣
To all our patients - important message if you have peripheral vascular disease ⬇️
Please contact your local Podiatrist or Vascular Team if you notice any worsening symptoms. We are still open for our ulcerated and high risk patients & have direct links to our vascular teams 👣
Important message, if you have or care for someone with vascular disease, if the symptoms deteriorate or you have concerns seek help. Vascular units are open with foot clinics, wound care and new pathways for covid. #vasculardisease#vascular more advice @CircFoundation
Thank you @NandosUK in Greenwich for providing our team with free lunch yesterday! We enjoyed a #SocialDistanced leaving lunch for one of our Podiatrist’s 😋

Really good to meet the team today and hear about the challenges you’re facing during #covid. I was so impressed by your energy and enthusiasm and your care for your patients. As one of your colleagues said ‘we’re health care professionals and we carry on regardless’. Thank you
We had a board visit today via WebEx to discuss our service during #Covid and action points going forward. Thank you @tall_rachel@hlj17@oxleaschair for taking the time to meet and listen to the Oxleas Podiatry Team today 👣
