@J_Swish24 The main issue was that when he had that outlier year where he scored 41 goals in 57 games, people thought that was the beginning of him turning into a 60 goal scorer. And as always, people turn unreasonable expectations into hate when those expectations aren't met.
@BigButtheadNYR@OBE1896@HockeyStatMiner Yeah in Slaf’s first season. And then he was fed pp1 minutes (2.5x the minutes laf got) in season two. Why did he get those minutes in season 2 when he didn’t earn them when you said these players have to earn it!?!?
@BigButtheadNYR@HockeyStatMiner Yeah man like you said, he had to earn playing there. And he def earned that spot with his 33 total nhl games before that season on Nashville where he had 10 total points. Contradiction again. And then the following year he was taken off the line? But he earned it!!!!
@BigButtheadNYR@OBE1896@HockeyStatMiner Bro sit down. Again, this discussion started from a chart showing Hughes and Slaf got fed pp1 minutes. Power is also a dman so it’s a different discussion because there’s only one dman playing on a power play 99.9% of the time. But even being on pp2 he averaged more than laf
@BigButtheadNYR@HockeyStatMiner I just showed you that he’s back tomorrow and On PP1 over perreault. Plus They have fucking three centers on powerplay one if Miller is included. I’m done with you and your lame ass insults because you constantly contradict everything you say
@BigButtheadNYR@HockeyStatMiner Both of those players would have had drastically less points for their first few years if they were on the rangers instead because of the same reasons as Laf and there are no gaurantees they would have turned into what they have turned into with the opportunities they had
Looks like J.T. Miller is in line to return tomorrow. He's working with PP1, taking Gabe Perreault's place. Fox, Zibanejad, Trocheck and Lafrenière remain #NYR
@BigButtheadNYR@HockeyStatMiner Turning your highly regarded 1OA into a huge part of your team has more to do with the success of the team than it does worh “catering to one player” how could they even know if Laf getting pp1 mins would have hurt them when they didn’t try? Could have always went back to Strome
@BigButtheadNYR@HockeyStatMiner That’s absolutely not a guarantee. If Laf and Hughes or Stutzle swapped places, Hughes or stutzle would have been blocked and not on pp1 either. You think they’d be the same player they are right now if they were dicked around and benched for sneezing their first few years?
@BigButtheadNYR@HockeyStatMiner I guess signing shesterkin and Gavrikov to 18m means they’re ready to compete right now too. I don’t even know why I’m discussing this with you.
@BigButtheadNYR@HockeyStatMiner They missed the playoffs those two years! You don’t think getting your 1OA scoring some pp goals and and building confidence might have nudged them further along towards competing?
@BigButtheadNYR@HockeyStatMiner It’s crazy to me that saying “replace the fourth right handed shot, who was the least important part of the powerplay in a year that they missed the playoffs and put your left handed 1OA highly regarded pick there instead at least to try” was called a ridiculous statement lol
@BigButtheadNYR@HockeyStatMiner And they produced similar or less at even than laf did those first two years with getting even more minutes than Laf. I just don’t understand that argument at all
@BigButtheadNYR@HockeyStatMiner I also already pointed out that he out scored Jack Hughes in his first two years all at even strength even if you included Jack Hughes pp1 time. Another one is stutzle
Laf first 2 years at even strength: 12g 9a and 19g 11a
Stutzle: 8g, 12a and 14g 17a
