@POTUS@lamchhops So for any of us “essential workers” with no generational wealth and had to take out hundreds of thousands of loans with high interest rates…just because we make more the $125k, we don’t get anything? I don’t mind paying off student loans, but we need to improve rates/relief
Imposter syndrome is often billed as a feeling that you made it into your position because of a mistake, but my special brand of evolved imposter syndrome™ is not that I feel like I'm unqualified; it's that I feel like I am constantly underperforming despite my qualifications
Omg! So incredibly happy for my Endo department to include me in #DoctorsDay . They could just have neglected to include me, but as a PharmD, it means the world to me 😭
@ShariDunawayMD I have the privilege of being included in the MD interviewing process, even the “interview dinner”. Honestly, the thing that makes or breaks how much we want them to join is whether they have the social skills to work with our team! We know you’re smart, but can you converse?
@mike_natter Drives me insane how CGMs aren’t baseline covered like glucometers yet! Not only does it vastly help patient outcomes but so much more useful to providers to assess control and needed regimen changes!
Got #EQi360 assessment where anonymous raters gave me feedback on aspects of emotional intelligence in the lens of leadership. The responses were all higher than I rated myself. The comments brought tears of happiness to my eyes. Humbling yet pushes me to think higher of myself🥺
Now that I’m no longer a student, I’ve learned that I actually LOVE learning. I love watching CMEs, reading articles, and reviewing things regularly. The biggest difference is that there is no longer the fear of failing an exam!
Don’t mean to co-opt this from MDs and DO’s, but same thing for PharmDs. And we don’t get paid nearly as much, but salaries high enough that loan forgiveness program monthly payments are not doable. How does the US think we can sustain any future healthcare providers?
Thought of the day:
The current interest rate on federal student loans is 6.8%.
The average medical student graduates with around $200,000 of debt.
In real terms, for the average medical graduate, their student loan balance is increasing by $1.55 per HOUR.
But you know what? I’m confident in my abilities, in my knowledge, and I’m grateful that when push comes to shove, I have plenty of other patients that have shown me thanks for helping them. #GoodVibesOnly
Having a very human reaction of frustration and sadness when one patient disparages my credentials and ability to take care of them just because I’m not an MD. Even when you’re specialized and curbside consulted by MDs, it’s still not enough for some people. 😔 #twitterx
@DianaMIsaacs It certainly is a tough idea of inequity, but you can advocate for increased access AND make sure you are protected. Ensuring your own safety doesn’t negate your desire for others to have it too. ❤️
@BrianSimsPA I’m a clinical pharmacist specializing in diabetes. Never had a break from or care during pandemic. The current debt system undermines any incentive to go for high debt/high pay jobs like Healthcare. We’re SO “valued” during a pandemic with nothing to show for it. #paralyzingdebt
Aww despite the typo for PharmD, this is how you know you have a great team. It’s #NationalDoctorsDay and they included me with the MDs today to celebrate. It feels amazing being recognized even when you didn’t expect it!!
Great! Utilize pharmacists for their direct access to the community. But PLEASE don’t forget the strain it puts on the staff. Community pharmacists are burned out. Metrics are killing the profession. Pay us back by regulating policy for safety over profit and provider status!
SCOOP: Biden will announce today that 90% of U.S. adults will be eligible for the vaccine by April 19, and that the U.S. will more than double the number of pharmacies where people can get a shot by then. Story link to come.
