One of the biggest lessons that I learned from coaching in the G league for a year was how to organize offense around triggers, rather than having a ton of set plays. Here’s how I organize those triggers 👇

Ball Screen Plays vs Zone⤵️
Treat the ball screen as a decision-maker, not a play.

Drill I learned from state champ coach was “6 possessions”
1 min on clock. Goal for starters is to get 6 possessions in a min. Score as quickly as possible, then steal/foul. Shows them they are never out of it.
The mentality won us games, including this one down 6 with 50 sec😱
“Why would you ever give less than your best after you lose and don’t get a result that you want? You actually should never do that. You want to know why? You’ll stay a loser,” Kara Lawson
Winners and losers have a choice when it comes to winning.
1 on 1 Progression
Both players have to go around the same side of the cone.
1 v 1 - O must make contact before finishing
1 v 2 - Control your space before attacking help-side or getting to a floater
2 v 2 - Control your space & read the help-side. Pass or finish.
OMG I never knew this ! Watch how Actress Danica McKeller who has won all kinds of awards for being a genius at math and has also written numerous books about it shows how to do math tricks because it’s mind blowing.
Will Sasso and Dan Soder are Macho Man Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rodney Dangerfield, and Robert Deniro reading Andy Rooney quotes. 😂😂😂😂

A good high school basketball team doesn't need 5 scorers.
It needs a floor general, a lockdown defender, and somebody who knows their job is to rebound everything in sight.
Roles win games. Superstars are built out of teams that commit to those roles.
📢 Drill Of The Day:
Bad Pass, Pickup Contested Shooting
Bad passes happen more than you think in games. Can you still make the shot?
🔥 Focus:
• Quick footwork & release
• Scooping the ball off floor
• Knocking down shots through contested closeouts

Photographer Phil Thurston shot a wave.
Slowed it down until those few seconds became 40.
Turns out the ocean is doing something extraordinary every single moment.
We're just moving too fast to notice.
Overprotected kids become unprepared adults.
Dawn Staley nailed it.🔥
You can’t shelter your child from every hard moment and then expect them to handle adversity when it counts.
Hard is the lesson.
What’s one hard lesson sports taught you that helped later in life? 👇

“I do not like losing but I’m not afraid to lose. I learn from losing,” Michael Jordan
If the standard is daily growth, then adversity becomes part of the process and winning becomes part of the culture.
Skill Development: 1 on 1 is a part of almost every skill workout in the off season. Lots of ways to emphasize and grow in different ways. Here are two we used last week. Again, great leadership & creativity by @sohmatsuura#GrowOurGame#Getbetter
