Sacred Symbols of a Bishop
Mitre – The mitre is worn by a bishop as a mark of his office and a symbol of his authority.
The mitre is presented to the bishop during the Rite of
Ordination of a Bishop.
The proper color of a mitre
is always white.
The mitre is distinguished from other episcopal vestments in that it is always laid aside when the bishop prays at Mass.

The Word of the Lord cannot remain only a fine abstract idea or stir up only a passing emotion. Scripture invites us to change our gaze and allow our hearts to be transformed into the image of the heart of Christ. #WordOfGod
I am concerned about the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I urge all parties to cease hostilities and safeguard civilians. I pray for peace and call on local and international authorities to commit to resolving the conflict peacefully.
Christian #Hope is greater than any situation in life, because hope has its foundation in God, not in other people. What seems impossible for human beings is possible for God (Mt 19:26).
With God at our side, we can overcome despair and live each moment as an opportune time to start again. In our worst moments, let us not close in on ourselves. May we talk to God about our pain and help each other to bear it.
