No bans, no subsidies. 

Subsidies and bans on any energy source distort the market, creating warped incentives and pushing up prices.

While the Government talks about expanding renewable energy sources, they fail to highlight that it is heavily subsidised by you, the taxpayer.

Labor, Greens and the Teals virtue signal energy policies while you pay for it through your taxes and your energy bills.

The Libertarian Party wants to immediately abolish all of these subsidies.

URANIUM MINING IN NSW

Dear Premier Minns

On 6 May 2026 the NSW Legislative Council passed a bill removing the ban on uranium mining in NSW.

While the Labor MLCs voted against the bill, only one bothered to speak against ... and that appeared to lack enthusiasm.

I'm told at the recent NSW ALP Conference, there was not a peep of opposition to lifting the ban ... despite there being an active bill in favour of it.

The next step is for the bill to proceed to the Legislative Assembly ... where you have a working majority.

This SMH report says the key reason Prime Minister Modi is visiting Australia is because his country needs cheap, clean electricity and therefore nuclear power. But Modi needs uranium and he wants to buy it from country with the largest uranium deposits in the world - Australia.

South Australia and the Northern Territory already mine and export uranium. The industry provides a tonne of high paying jobs and royalties.

Mr Premier, industry experts are unanimous - New South Wales is almost certainly home to commercial deposits of uranium ... we just need to get out of the way of that industry and they will look after the rest.

"Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Indian counterpart Narendra Modi are set to strike a breakthrough deal to unleash a surge of Australian uranium exports to India, ending more than a decade of delays since the nations signed a historic nuclear co-operation pact.

Sources familiar with the planning of the visit said the leaders were expected to sign a long-awaited commercial uranium supply agreement.

Changes to Indian safeguards have now paved the way for significant quantities of uranium to be exported for peaceful purposes.

India has set an ambitious target to have 100GW of nuclear power capacity by 2047, 10 times greater than current levels.

India is planning a massive increase in nuclear power capacity to help reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and power the boom in data centres linked to artificial intelligence.

The state-owned Nuclear Power Corporation Of India has said the country planned to add 18 more nuclear reactors to its energy mix by 2032.

Sources in the resources sector, who were not authorised to speak publicly, said Australian uranium companies were eager to seize opportunities to export to India and were willing to expand their operations if necessary.

Australia has the world’s largest uranium reserves – almost a third of the global total – according to the World Nuclear Association, but is only the world’s fourth-largest producer.

Uranium mining is banned in NSW, Queensland and Western Australia."

Coal is our number 1 export in NSW. The government says we’ll keep exporting it for decades, supplying cheap reliable energy to other countries. It’ll go into the same atmosphere whether we burn it here or they do. We can’t pretend there’s a difference anymore. To claim that "the most unreliable part our energy system is coal" is just an unmitigated lie.

Coal is backbone of our electricity grid, and it has to flex up and down because of the total unreliability of wind and solar.

Four years ago, Ray Williams MP (Liberal) made allegations in the NSW Parliament regarding his own party.

Until today I had not paid attention to the details. I have however heard endless whispering around parliament that Labor was engineering a ‘blockbuster’ ICAC inquiry on The Hills Shire and it was being timed to blow up with months to go till the 2027 election … and here we are.

Since 2018 NSW has had a law that bans donations from proscribed persons and entities … and that includes property developers (FYI it is Libertarian Party policy to abolish this law as a violation of free speech).

Anyway, based solely on today’s media reports, the allegations are that a property developer gave $ to recruit new party members.

That money (so I read in the paper) was not used to campaign in an election regulated by the NSW Electoral Commission or the AEC. This money was given for an internal party election … over which the NSW EC and the 2018 law have zero interest in or power over.

Under the Electoral Funding Act 2018 (NSW): “a political donation is … a gift made to or for the benefit of a party … the whole or part of which was used or is intended to be used … solely or substantially for a purpose related to an election …” (s 5).

The Act regulates donations and expenditure for State and local government elections (s4 and Parts 3–5). Electoral expenditure excludes “expenditure on factual advertising of … meetings for organisational purposes of parties, branches of parties …” and “any other matter involving predominantly the administration of parties” (s 7).

This is why the internal party election spending is outside the scope of the law ICAC is supposedly enforcing here. It was for an internal matter presided over by the Liberal Party, not an election governed by the NSWEC or the AEC.

If the evidence was incontrovertible that a law was broken then this would be a police matter. As far as I know, the cops have no interest in this matter.

So what to do when you want to smear high profile people but the cops ain’t biting? ICAC of course.

ICAC gets big headlines, brands people as corrupt … but rarely does it actually get to a court of law where behaviour is weighed against a specific law.

ICAC wrecks people’s lives … based on a vibe.

Nick Greiner, Barry O’Farrell and Gladys Berejiklian are all former Liberal premiers. All three were forced to resign because of ICAC inquiries. Greiner took it to court and was entirely exonerated … but he’d already retired and NSW lost its best premier in a generation (over nothing).

At what point do we ask whether ICAC is principally a pro Labor Party front designed to hurt their opponents?

When Parliament next sits I will propose an inquiry into political bias at ICAC ( fun fact: the current supremo of ICAC is a former Labor Party Attorney General).

Abolish ICAC and replace it with nothing.

Someone wrote a book called ‘Make the Liberal Party Great Again’ … and had those wholesale democratic reforms been adopted this would not have happened and neither would have the Liberal Party’s polling crashed.

Senator McGrath, its all very well to churn out an oped piece for the Australian trying to reclaim Liberal Party values but the facts still remain.

The Party:

- didnt stand up for small business, small government, balanced budgets, low taxes and freedom between 2013 and 2022
- allowed federal agencies to impose more red tape and bureaucracy on SMEs
- backed the economy destroying Net Zero policy
- oversaw a massive over-reaction to Covid-19 that trashed livelihoods, family relationships and kids education
- allowed State Premiers to trample on our civil rights
- massively increased debt
- etc.etc.

Meantime, you conspired with others to oust Tony Abbott as PM and waged a jihad against conservatives within the LNP in Qld.
