@OrdinariateUSA I'm a life-long Catholic and when I see posts like this pop up from time to time on Twitter, it makes me sick. We should be so happy someone else found Christ's Church. And, from my experience, the quote tweeted guys is sadly correct.
@virtualhistoria@BigSteveOG2 Then you would be incorrect, because there are host of other media that are considered canon by the Disney Company, which has sole authority to determine what is and isn't Star Wars canon, given to them by the creator of Star Wars, George Lucas.
@dsonoiki Their position is that if their favored/in- groups are accused of crimes, they are innocent and the system is evil, and if their disfavored/out-groups are accused of crimes they are guilty and the system is perfect.
@johnamonaco I really struggle to understand where these people are coming from. Did they all go to Oxford and Harvard? Do they think people going to State U are coming out of it doing advanced mathematics and particle physics?
@pontificatormax My favorite is when they quote statments from 19th century popes with a high view of papal authority. 19th century popes would have most of us exectued for laxism and modernism if they heard us. The SSPX would be barely tolerated as the farthest left acceptable position.
@countmaculad The position of recent Popes on this topic essentially makes excommunication and schism pointless categories. This excommunication is a real life instantiation of the "I don't believe this, but you do, so if I say it maybe you will do what I want" meme.
@CatholicSOTC I wonder what made Bp. Sheen so solid before Vatican II, but go so far off the deep end after it. Was it an early version of the hypertrophied sense of obedience we are seeing the wake of the SSPX excommunications, a desire to be liked, something else?
@countmaculad You seem to have a great deal of patience for the wall-of-text legalisms about obedience that these kinds of posts attract, and for that I admire you.
@EarlTurnerzzzz@TLM_Ryan@pontificatormax I'm fairly certain I was at the same Mass as you were. I'd give Father a little grace but I was pretty disappointed. I wish he'd just said nothing about it at all.
@Oilfield_Rando I don't know about you, but I definitely want someone who would collaborate with a foreign occupire and their puppet government for money in this country!
@thejerryproctor@AnthonyEsolen@ohJuliatweets You are being intentionally pedantic and obscurantist. This is the only substantial thing Franklin wrote on the Iroquois and anything else he said about them was a reiteration of this point to shame the colonies into a confederation, hardly an unknown principal to Europeans.
@thejerryproctor@AnthonyEsolen@ohJuliatweets Here is a link to the entirety of Franklin on the Iroquois Confederacy. It is a couple of sentences lamenting that the Indians could unite for their benefit but that the colonies could not. https://t.co/blpalEkpY6
@VDAREJamesK This explains his sudden flip from Trump supporter to leftist radical. He's not very good looking and a huge amount of gender goblinry is driven by unattractive people thinking they would do better if they were perceived as the other sex or a fictitious "gender."
@CatholicVote These two men were led astray, but the clerics involved did this deliberately and should receive a harsh punishment. I hope they receive the proper discipline from their superiors (I'm not holding out hope for that, though).
