@ginger_journo Dear Emma. Sorry the Rare Earth Net Zero prog didnt mention nuclear, imported goods, uncertainties in data, etc. I'm pro Fossil Transition but disappointed at public debate. Eg Gas is 1/2 coal so not an evil alternative. UK is big importer of French nuclear. ETC
@KatyHickman4 Good programme, especially the play and Shetlands parts. As usual, no mention of nuclear, sadly, the blind spot. (No £ connection for me!). Maybe read Gwynneth Cravens's book? Still valid. https://t.co/hW0yV6cDlE
@WhistledownProd@CatherineECarr@CatherineECarr Fascinating prog but there's a massive hole: young males need to be taught it's all about finding their own honourable excellence as a route to status. And status, as well as skills, are what you need. But status can be found everywhere, and built. With effort.
@RanaMallah Versions of Islam, like versions of other religions including Christianity, are incompatible with lieral democracies, no surprise there; cults often develop like this. The problem is always when a major, militarised, state, bases itself on such religious versions. As us, so them.
@wself great comments on Shakespeare and his time, and the problem of being male. Love the challenge re 'toxic' masculinity. (Nobody complains about men sent to do harsh jobs, turbinerigger, warrior, etc)
@PhilipJCollins1 Really outstanding Times piece today: inventive, biting, witty, well-made, true. For my scrapbook. Also reminds me that MirrorforPrinces books, eg Aesop, had a subgenre in which the moral of the tale was NOT in the aphoristic coda, which was to deflect critics.
