Journey’s “Only the Young” plays as Louden Swain runs across multiple bridges spanning the Spokane River during the opening credits of VISION QUEST. Director Harold Becker used these bridges as a metaphor for his coming-of-age story where crossing a body of water symbolizes transition, rebirth, and leaving the past behind.

Jer and Bomi Bulsara went to most of Freddie Mercury’s concerts. But not Live Aid, on July 13, 1985, when their son, quite literally, rocked the world.
"It was such a huge event it would have been too complicated," Jer recalls. "So we watched it on television. I was so proud. My husband turned to me and said, 'Our boy’s done it.'"

Scott Pelley responds to Trump saying he doesn’t care about the country: “I’ve never worn the uniform, but I’ve been in combat for this country. In Afghanistan, and Iraq, Kuwait. Been shot at. Spent nights in foxholes filling up with water in the desert. I’m not aware that the president has ever done any of those things for his country. You become a journalist because you love the First Amendment, you love the country. While all the other descriptions the president used about me might be applicable, not that one”
One thing that’s been lost culturally is the satisfaction of hanging up on someone. You’d slam this fucker down and if you were mad enough you might even get a little “ding” from the ringer. Trust me when I say it felt fucking great.
I hate to admit this but Trump was right.
He said that if I vote for Kamala Harris gas prices, groceries prices and my utility bills will go through the roof.
I voted for Harris and my gas, groceries and utility bills have gone through the roof.
Will Ferrell’s entrance in Wedding Crashers (2005) is comedy perfection. Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn spend the whole movie hyping him up like some untouchable legend, then Ferrell finally appears looking completely unhinged in that robe.
The video for "Where The Streets Have No Name" was recorded live on the roof of a liquor store in Los Angeles (1987). U2 played the whole song non-stop and the crowd that formed on the street was so large that it caused a gigantic traffic jam. The police arrived, threatened to arrest everyone and turn off the power, but the band finished the song anyway.
The three stages of me hearing Rhinestone Cowboy:
1. “Oh, great, this song. I’m gonna change the station …”
2. “Maybe one more verse …”
3. “LIKE A RHINESTONE COWBOYYYY … RIDIN’ OUT ON A HORSE IN A STAR-SPANGLED RODEOOOOO …”
The 2:15 run in Top Gun: Maverick (2022) still feels like pure adrenaline. One of those sequences that locks an entire theater in from the second it starts.
Congrats to Jackson Waltzing who was awarded both the CLC player of the week and also Strib Varsity High School Athlete of the week.
He pitched a perfect game vs Brainerd, then followed up for a 5 for 5 evening vs Fergus Falls. Congrats to Jackson!
