Lovely Bluebell Cottage Owner πͺ»The Peak District
@Grenoside
Bluebell Cottage (1800's) is now on sale! (Spring 26). Located by woodlands π³ on the Peak District boundary. π 'Little Mesters' cottage industry history.π΄π¨
@DoorsNo3828 My fave colour too! π·οΈππThe owners were really friendly and inspirational and, not surprisingly, proud of their beautiful boat! Meeting lovely peeps can really lift your spirits. It was a pleasure to chat with them. π€
#WallsonWednesday in The Peak District + two fab foxgloves (belated #twosday π).
Dry stone walls are pretty amaZing! Just think of the history held in every stone. I went on a stonewall building course in my 20s. I loved it, and I managed to use my skills at my mum and dad's. π
For anyone who needs reminding that Scotland really is a fantastic, magical place, here are some singing seals I saw - and recorded π€!!! - on the island of Mingulay today π¦π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏπΆ
@domdyer70@gajido_ian Agreed π―%. It's so unnecessary to use real bear fur pelts. Fake fur would be indistinguishable and would save the lives of these beautiful animals as well as saving OUR money, and enabling the govt to grapple back some respect by keeping to their word!
@TheGriftReport@terrier_towers So tragic. π₯ To be dismissed is horrible even if you're well. How heart-wrenchingly cruel to be dismissed by those who should have cared, and could have saved her if they'd taken the time to be there for her.
When I am asked, Is there anything people can do at home to help bees, whether they have a garden, patio, window box, or local green space?
Absolutely. One of the simplest and most meaningful things we can do is grow flowers.
Over the past century, England has lost around 97% of its wildflower meadows. These once-vibrant landscapes provided food and shelter for countless pollinators, and their disappearance has had a profound impact on bee populations across the country.
The good news is that even the smallest space can make a difference. Whether you have a large garden, a few pots on a patio, a window box, or access to a community green space, planting bee-friendly flowers creates valuable feeding stations for pollinators. Individually, these may seem like small acts, but together they form a network of habitats that help bees thrive.
By choosing native wildflowers, youβre not only bringing beauty and colour into your surroundings, youβre helping to restore a tiny piece of the landscape that bees have lost.
Know someone who's looking for a characterful stone cottage, in an idyllic location, minutes from The Peak District, and for sale at a bargain price? π€
Maybe they're in #London? #Manchester? #Edinburgh? #Discerningπ?
