Congratulations to @chandna on his 10th appearance on the Forbes Midas List. ๐
For over two decades, Asheem has embodied what Greylock aims to do at its best: be the first believer in exceptional founders, and work tirelessly through the ups and downs to help them build companies that matter.
The greatest privilege in this work is earning the right to be a founder's thought partner. We are grateful for the entrepreneurs and teams who have placed that trust in Asheem and everyone at Greylock.
Congratulations, Asheem!
Congrats, @CorinneMRiley, on making the Forbes Midas Brink list, a recognition for the next generation of investors poised to shape venture.
We want the world to know what we see every day: Corinne brings relentless support to every founder, rolling up her sleeves on whatever the company needs, big or small. She backed @baseten, @usebraintrust, @resolveai, @cogent_security, @FableSecurity, and @altaratech before the rest of the world caught on.
She has also built platforms that serve founders well beyond her own portfolio, from Greylock Edge to the Scouts program to Greylock Change Agents. Her energy is unmatched.
None of this happens without the founders who trusted us as their first believers. They are the reason this recognition exists, and we are deeply grateful.
So proud of you, Corinne.
One common theme: AI agents went from nice-to-have to must-have. The buyers who were figuring it out are now actively buying. The security companies that get this are building headless, API-first. That is a different product instinct entirely, and most incumbents do not have it yet.
"The attacker, the target, and the buyer have all changed. Security thinking has not caught up."
Earlier this week, Greylock and @mantisVC brought together CISOs and security founders for a conversation moderated by @AlextPallNY (The Chainsmokers & Mantis VC founder). On the panel: Bruno Kurtic (@BedrockDataAI ), Nicole Jiang-Gibson (@FableSecurity ), and David Tsao (@NotionHQ). Three things stood out.
@mantisVC 3) The buyer: The most sophisticated buyers have stopped touching UI. With MCP crossing 97 million monthly SDK downloads and over 10,000 production servers, API-first infrastructure is no longer an edge case.
@mantisVC 2) The target: Attackers are not just coming for your systems anymore. The new play is to impersonate a vendor you trust, then use that foothold to reach your customers. Your customer relationships are part of your threat surface now.
1) The attacker: AI has lowered the skill floor for attackers. What looks like a nation-state threat may be a script with a prompt behind it. The techniques that once required deep expertise are now packaged, accessible, and increasingly automated.
At the recent @OpenAIDevs Founder Day, I had fun chatting about how we use OpenAI's capabilities to scale scientific intelligence at @altaratech:
- Helping scientists and engineers reason across complex, multimodal data
- Parallelizing long-running workflows
- Building trust through greater transparency
If you're interested in tackling challenges in AI for science, we're hiring! (Link below)
Last week, Altara took over the Greylock SF office!
@evatuecke, @catherinehyeo and the team came out of stealth, so a party was in order. They are one of the most hardworking and talented teams we've had the privilege of partnering with, bringing AI to the world of physical sciences.
Seeing the team finally get to celebrate in a room full of people who've been rooting for them from day one made us so proud. Big congratulations to everyone at @altaratech

Grocery is a $1.5T domestic market โ bigger than restaurants, bigger than hotels. But it's running on technology from the Reagan administration.
We just raised a $22M Series B for @VoriHQ to make every supermarket in America autonomous.
we're entering the era of AI for the physical sciences:
@altaratech comes out of stealth today with a scientific intelligence platform that helps R&D teams go from data to insights in minutes.
They're already working teams across semiconductor, battery, and advanced materials to accelerate the process from experimentation to commercialization. Their agents ingest and reason across the complex, multimodal data: semiconductor wafer maps, high-resolution inspection data like SEM images, large-scale instrument time series data, scattered spreadsheets, unstructured research documents, and domain-specific legacy systems โ all without requiring years-long migrations to new systems of record.
We at @GreylockVC led their $7M seed, alongside our friends at @neo, @BoxGroup, @Liquid2V and incredible angels like @JeffDean and execs at OpenAI and AMD.
@catherinehyeo and @evatuecke are building an exceptional team (ex-NVIDIA, SpaceX, Applied Intuition, Jane Street, Microsoft, Warp, ++) in SF. If you want to work on one of the hardest and most consequential problems in technology, check out their careers page
Introducing @altaratech, built to accelerate the physical sciences from data to breakthrough. The industries shaping the physical world โ semiconductors, batteries, advanced materials โ sit on decades of valuable data that has never been fully within reach. Altara is the infrastructure built to unlock it.
Founded by @evatuecke and @catherinehyeo, two outlier founders bringing deep scientific fluency and AI expertise to one of the hardest problems in technology.

Introducing Altara: the scientific intelligence platform for the physical world.
Today @evatuecke and I are excited to announce our $7M seed led by @GreylockVC, joined by @Neo, @BoxGroup, @Liquid2V, and angel investors including @JeffDean and leadership from OpenAI & AMD.
Weโre already working with early customers in semiconductors, batteries, and advanced materials. More below.
Three important updates from Cresta, the leading AI platform for customer experience, today
1. Cresta has crossed $100 million ARR, with annual growth rate >100% and accelerating
2. Doug Leone @dougleone is now the company's chairman
3. Carl Eschenbach @carl_eschenbach has rejoined the board of directors
Excited to see @cresta accelerate at scale.
Organizations often have to throttle the telemetry they share with their cybersecurity applications.
The result: AI systems are asked to defend environments without full visibility or context.
